The problem is that the crowd who are most anti-death penalty are also pretty much always against full life terms. There is a point to which I could accept full life terms if we are going to have no death penalty. But we don't have life either. The number of criminals who are serving "full life" terms is very small compared to the number of murders we have had in the last few decades.A good point and thank God for that. Even 34 years later his crimes are horrific and his lack of remorse stark. He may not have got a whole life tariff back then but if anybody needs to stay in prison until he dies it's him. The parole board have the power to ensure that happens and I pray they now do so. It isn't being vindictive it's protecting vulnerable members of society from a still dangerous psychopathic sexually driven murderer.
