What course are you on at the moment mate ?

A-Levels English Language, Business Studies, Media Studies and Sociology
Had English and Business exams today English went okay Business didn't! struggling with it all at the moment suppose the biggest thing is i want money, all my mates are always going out and im skint and cant keep lending money of my mum but i know i couldnt handle a part time job & college

Why not ? You have weekends free dont you ? I know loads of people who work part time and do A level.

As for college being shit I agree but I just really despise my course and my college and wish I had taken A levels.

OK mate, it`s a difficult situation for sure, as a parent I`d be inclined to say stick by it and look to the future, I was at college myself as a mature student as well as being a single parent and trying to scrape a living for us ( so it`s do-able), plenty of lads on my course were very similar to you in that things weren`t sinking in and felt they were missing out, but eventually things did sink in, they passed the course and have decent jobs now, the ones who dropped out are doing dead end kind of jobs, burger flipping etc, so my advice would be to stick with it and see which doors open.

yeh i'm just abit of a lazy bastard tbh think im going to have a look about for a part time job and stick with college for now see if it gets any worse, thanks all

Fuck college off straight away.

You'll end up working forty years of your life in an office to pay off an inordinate mortgage. You don't want that.

I think you should go on the dole and let other suckers pay for your living. lol.

if you do what he says youll turn into the twat that posted above...... your choice.

You just missed out on all the christmas temp work so might be a bigger struggle to find a job than it would have been a month or 2 ago. Just remember because you're under 18 minimum wage is only like £3.70 p/hr as well

If you do stay, one bit of advice, drop English language after the first year.
i'm second year and have had to do a massive fuck-off essay, genuinely it's horrible, you feel dead spending time on it for more than 10 minutes.

Get your head down, try your best and ride out the next two years. If you can do the work then I promise it will be worth it in the end. In 18 months you'll have 3 A levels, you'll be able to go to Uni or you can go into work with some decent qualifications under your belt. It's a difficult job market out there, you would be better off staying in education as long as possible and you'll give yourself the best chance of a decent job in the future.

Well, I don't know what it's like over there, but here in the States it's nearly impossible to get a decent job without a university education (we use college and university interchangeably here). I just graduated in December with a business degree, so I know it sucks, but I can also tell you it's worth it in the end. It's only a few years, after all. Now I'm getting ready to start a great job with excellent pay and benefits, but if I hadn't gone to higher education I wouldn't have had a chance at this.
