Comedy Genius.

Yeah, I remember he wrote Blackadder, which was great, I was more referring to his stage act, which was similar to the woke crap we get subjected to now.
But, comedy's subjective, to each their own.
He wrote "The Thin Blue Line" too and must be running out of jokes because he shoe horned 2 from The Young Ones bank robber scene into a bank robbery scene in that too.

Just something about this film I love. Watched it countless times and still laugh out loud even if it isn't as politically correct as it should be these days:

When Steve Martin is at his best he is pretty unique.

Can't believe he hasn't been mentioned up until now.
At his best he was a brilliant comic, manic visuals coupled with a great script that was delivered with perfect timing.
Norman wisdom on speed, with jokes.
Superb.
I believe he has retired now, to spend more time with his family. Fair play to him.

Not a massive fan of Atkinson for loads of reasons - however he was part of the best ending of one of the best comedy series ( all series ) ever. Still pulls you up short watching it

interesting backstory too - presented with a sow's ear they made a silk purse

I've never seen that backstory bit. Brilliant.
