Coming in & going out this summer

Re: Coming in & going out this summer

How about Vermaelen as an option.

Give downhill at Arsenal but so had Clichy. With Kolo and probably Lescott going he wouldn't be too expensive.

Its been mentioned a few times on here, and he's a good choice,he still has quality and the move would reinvigorate him i believe.

He does seem to pick up injuries, however, being rested plenty,he could be the ideal choice.

8m and 40k/week wages?

Doubt he would come for 40k a week but he is a good defender.
Strong and skillful. He just had a bad season. Remember when he used to carry the arsenal defense
Single handedly.
I wouldn't be suprised if Barcelona went in for him, he is a top level player.

This never happened.

Marquinhos linked with us again in Gazzetta, who say Cavani and he are our Serie A targets.

He, Nastasic, and Varane are probably considered the three best defenders in their age group at the moment.

We can go on about who will miss out, who will sit on the bench, but I say f*ck it... to be the best you need to have the best and we should be looking to build a hungry and competitive young team full of players with good workrate and something to prove.

Marquinhos is right footed (as is the other rumoured target, Papadopoulos) so would be in competition/rotation with Kompany if Mancini continues the "one left-footed, one right-footed" thing. Who would be left-footed backup? A chance for Rekik (despite his loan blues at Blackburn) or convince Lescott to stay?

I can see Garcia being shoved back.

Re: Coming in & going out this summer

Marquinhos is very good and is a barca target who are starved for a young CB. I'll be surprised if he doesn't move this summer to one of us

Barca also got linked with thiago silva which is lol funny. That boat sailed last summer boys ur a day late and couple dollars short

I think we will have a core of 14 top class players after the outgoings, to which we need to add another 4 top class players (Centre Back, Centre Midfielder, Winger, Striker) and a couple of promising youngsters who are hungry and can really push the first teamers.

Hart, Pantilimon
Zabaleta, Kompany, Nastastic, Clichy, Richards
Silva, Yaya, Rodwell, Nasri, Milner
Aguero, Tevez

CB: Martin Skrtel - Currently on the bench at Liverpool due to a lack of form but he's a rock solid defender and would add a real bite and aerial presence in games were we struggle (Stoke, Everton, Sunderland etc.). Nastastic will undoubtedly have a dip in form as a 19/20 year old at some stage so to have a top class defender ready to take his place

CM: Alex Song - Exactly what we need in midfield. Very athletic, energetic and above all proven in England. Technically he is top class, he has a wide range of passing and would be the ideal partner for Yaya. He can also drop in at CB if we need him too as well.

WG: Marco Reus - With Mario Götze and Robert Lewandowski leaving Dortmund I can see Reus getting itchy feet so I would do everything to get him. Don't think I really need to say anymore. If we can't get Reus then I would go for Arjen Robben as a short term alternative if the stories are true about Guardiola not fancying him at Bayern.

ST: Edinson Cavani - We need a physical presence up front and someone who canlead the line so Aguero can play more of a free role. He would give us much added pace on the counter attack which we desperately lack at the moment and would also give us a much needed outlet to play balls over the top to give our attack a bit of variety rather than playing everything to feet.

I would go for Fernandinho and Marquinhos over Song/Skrtel. We need a ball winner and Song is more passing type, not really gonna give us that pace and defensive quality of Fernandinho. Would much prefer someone young at CB (or keep Lescott) and I would go for Marquinhos of Roma, much younger and more potential.

Already signed:
Jules Ntcham - very young but this guy is really good

Probables:
Edinson Cavani (Napoli)
Christian Eriksen (Ajax)

Possibles:
Adam Maher (AZ)
Stevan Jovetić (Fiorentina) - supposedly we have first pick - but Arsenal seem to really want him.
Sokratis Papastathopoulos (Werder Breman) - Young Greek centre half
Isco AKA Francisco Román Alarcón Suárez (Malaga)

Left field:
Bale (Spurs) - Please let this happen!
Lewandowski (Dortmund) - If only to keep the price high for others!
