An hr and a half earlier misses the whole point of the problem being the day being Sunday and the venue being 200 miles for us and about 20 for arsenal.
4pm on the same day at wembley, they can still fuck off

What are you on about? Stop strawmanning. If this was at Villa Park at 3pm on the Saturday it would sell out.Shall we get them to rebuild Maine Road over pre-season and host it there?
Nothing short of that will make some fans happy
Of course we had power. We were their only income. For this Community Shield however, the fans are just a backdrop. First and foremost in the FA's primary, if not only, considerations is how much TV revenue we can make. Luckily for this game it won't be much so the sudden thought of 30,000 seats going unsold and a huge reduction concession sales makes them think again. Will that TV contract reduce hugely if we move the game, and can that be compensated by fans returning. It's a balancing act, but one they've never considered before until we said enough is enough. This is a moment, that needs to be seized, and send the message, that football without fans is nothing.Yes very well.
When the game was run by TV salesmen and butchers..... and fans had very little power unless you know otherwise
But a concession nonetheless and a tacit admission that they got it wrong originally. It's a minor concession, nothing more.
Yes we were the main form of income but that meant nothing to club chairman or Ted Croker in the FA. To them we were just stupid mugs who handed over our money every week and watched games in shit holes called football grounds.Of course we had power. We were their only income. No one is stopping anyone from going. The supporters club do not even back the boycott, which is both predictable and disappointingpeople on here who were not going but proposing a boycott should not comment. When I was a shop steward at a large engineering company and a mass meeting was called, those members who had their mortgages all paid and no kids, voted for ban on overtime knowing it would not affect them. Same here I think people who spent all their money on the cup final and Istanbul cannot afford another trip so jump on the boycott bandwagon, there are some that could not get tickets for either of the finals who have never been to a match at that stadium would want to go so why stop them the chance of going.
