Community Shield

For me any chance to add a trophy to the cabinet is a reason to take it seriously. United, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelsea all list the Shield on their major honours lists. If may be a minor pot but any silverware continues to build the winning mentality. Come on City!

Allocation is a f**king joke. This is Chelsea's so ours will be about the same.

FA COMMUNITY SHIELD TICKET DETAILS

The ticket selling arrangements for the FA Community Shield against Manchester City on Sunday 12 August at Villa Park, kick-off 1.30pm, have now been announced.

We will receive 13,581 tickets for the game, an allocation which is unlikely to be sufficient for our core season ticket holder base of non-hospitality and hospitality season ticket holders.

27,000 to City and Chelsea fans, Villa Park holds 42,000!!!

It will be all the prawn sandwich brigade getting the rest! Fucking joke this is!

It will sell out quickly due to the allocation and Villa being a lot easier to get to than Wembley. I would of loved to have gone to Wembley but with current cash shortages, I am glad it is only down the road.

I hope we go for it, we need to knock Chelsea of their 'European Champions' perch plus it will give us a good start to the season hopefully (then again it did not stop us last season).

Not to forget Chelsea will have one eye on the Super Cup as I am pretty sure Roman wants to go and try to win the that prestigious World Cup Club Cup which enables them to have that logo on their shirt proving they are the best team in the world!

Come on City, destroy them!!

I hope city play a full strength side and show that little shit hazard who is the better team.

You really think this?
Doesn't everyone? One year (early 70's) the FA Cup winners (Leeds) and the league champions (Derby) declined the chance to play for the Charity Shield. Instead fourth placed (at a time when fourth was a failure) City and the THIRD DIVISION CHAMPIONS (Villa) played for the shield.

It means nothing. The game is just an exhibition match. I will never be overjoyed to win it nor gutted to lose it.

For our end of season DVD the tounament in Ireland and even the matches in North America got a mention - of course, along with the League Cup, FA Cup, Champions League, Europa League and the Premier League - yet the Community Shield wasn't mentioned, at all.

Not even a little bit last year?
When they scored i put my hands on my head and thought "you bastards!". Then thirty seconds after the final whistle i was fine and looking forward to the season starting a week on Monday later.

We have the whole of the North Stand and Trinity Road Stand plus the usual bit we get in the Doug Ellis lower tier.
