Compensation culture

I actually think this is the right decision. Not sure about the payout, but then there's not enough info about the injury sustained.

If you read the article, the place setting was directly over the table leg, suggesting it was a big table and that the setting was not at the corner, and logic suggests you would normally have some legroom at a place setting. By hiding the leg with the cloth she should have been warned.

Wonder if she had the garlic bread.
 
The "compensation culture " can be traced back to the point when legal services were allowed to be advertised on TV. The explosion in claims was predicted and lo did come to pass.

There was a time when they weren't allowed to advertise but then Parliament - a building full of lawyers - said that should change. Many people said it would turn solicitors into ambulance chasers and the public into serial claimants. That was denied as being scaremongering. However here we are now with cases like this - ad's on TV encouraging people to submit a claim on a no win no fee basis and wall to wall cold calling over PPI "claims"
 
did I read it right,she was awarded 18,000 but appealed and got 20,000.
fuck me. I got his from behind by a 60 tonnes aircraft push back tug , i should be getting billions.

its the no win no fee that is the problem
