Complaint to BBC regarding Pete the Badge

I have just sent this with a link to the twitter page:

"I am complaining regarding an offensive photo caption (05 Feb) which referred to a Manchester City fan as "Bertie". I believe someone at the BBC added this caption to deliberately cause offense.

As you will now be aware, the term Bertie is a derogatory term for a Manchester City fan. The individual who appended the caption to the image would have been fully aware that this was offensive to Manchester City football Club and the Fans. I have had the privilege to speak to Pete (the gentleman in the photograph) on a number of occasions, both at Maine Road and The Etihad Stadium and he is a genuinely nice guy. He has done absolutely nothing to deserve this.

The BBC owe Pete and Manchester City Football Club an apology. I would also like assurances that the individual(s) responsible for this will be disciplined for their actions and that the BBC will put systems in place to ensure an incident of this kind does not happen again.

I would like a response to this complaint, but please do not embarrass yourselves further by furnishing me with the same cut and paste response you have sent to other complainants in in this matter."

I await their response........

You and your mates used to take great enjoyment asking Pete the time and then cracking up? Why?
Because he was dressed head to toe in sky blue and it made us chuckle that his dedication was such that he'd found the one and only digital watch that matched our kit at the time. Nothing more, nothing less.
