I'd be happy with compulsory voting provided there was a "None of this shower" box.
why? what would that achieve? its something already done by a lot of people - politicians just laugh at them

I think the fairest way is to have compulsory voting , using proportional representation with a single transferable vote, and the ability to also vote Reopen nominations ( essentially saying I would vote but not for any of these twats) and also the option of making an abstention- I do not want to vote on this occasion.

They laugh because there aren't enough people who spoil ballot papers,they just don't turn out.
There's a reliance on apathy.
If "none of the above" actually garnered most of the votes-no mandate for the politicians.

Because it would 'officially' register dissatisfaction with the parties and candidates. At the moment dissatisfaction is hidden under ''too lazy to vote''

This may not be a good idea given the bollocks printed and broadcast in favour of Brexit and the ensuing result.

Then what happens when the GE results have "none of the above" has most votes. Who Governs thereafter?Only if you can tick a box called "Non of the above" and it counts.
