Well im not counting the league cup because we played a complete new backline.

But well done to Mancini who has shored up our defence big time.

2 goals let in in 9 competetive games is brilliant.

I think that the key to winning sides is often a rock solid defence that concedes far fewer goals than the opposition.
Wheter you win a game 1-0 or 6-0, you still only get 3 points - it is the 0 that is critical.

Only Chelsea and City tick that box so far - the scum have been leaking goals like a rusty colander - same with Villa.
Arsenal look vulnerable.

If we can keep up this good defensive work and domination of midfield, we will be in very good shape through the rest of the season.

a great sign.the scum team of the 90s with the great dane used to go through the league season and only let in about 12 goals

One of those was a penalty incurred in the very last seconds of injury time, and the other was due to an embarrassing cock-up from big Joe.
Bearing in mind the injuries we've suffered, we have every reason to be proud of how our defence has played so far this season.

And even then one was a penalty in the last minute and the other a strange defensive mix up. Basically, nobody has prised us open this season.

Mancini must be doin somethin right , the spuds game was the only one where a team has put the defence and keeper under consistant pressure.

fantastic to see the back solid.

i hope we start to spank afew more teams by 3 or 4 to make a real statement

Yes , the key to not having babies is to keep your legs tightly shut ...... and so it goes with football , you keep things tight at the back first and foremost ... it'll probably bore everyone to death in it's own good time , but you've always a good chance of winning the game!
