Conceded 2 in 9 games.

I think that the key to winning sides is often a rock solid defence that concedes far fewer goals than the opposition.
Wheter you win a game 1-0 or 6-0, you still only get 3 points - it is the 0 that is critical.

Only Chelsea and City tick that box so far - the scum have been leaking goals like a rusty colander - same with Villa.
Arsenal look vulnerable.

If we can keep up this good defensive work and domination of midfield, we will be in very good shape through the rest of the season.
Agree,as long as the opposition can't score any goal,we will win or draw never lose.

the real key for the good defense come from the protective work of the midfield.

Spot on it also seems that De Jong, Barry and Yaya have gelled and are creating a great partnership!!

Agree with this - our midfield destroyed Liverpool and strangled Chelsea yesterday.,
I also REALLY like the cool calm and collected way theat we keep possession in defence, and do not hoof the ball upfield or kick and hope, thereby inviting more waves of attack.

This^^ was a major problem before. Maybe having Tevez as a lone striker has stopped the long hoof being an option. Whatever the weather it's working.

Let's put the chelsea game into some sort of perspective.

Since we beat them 4-2 at the Bridge, Chelsea had won 13, drawn 1 & lost 1, scoring 59 goals & conceding 7.

thats virtually 4 goals a game & conceding 1 every other game.
Whilst these games include wigan twice (14-0), WHam twice (7-2) Stoke twice (9-0), it also includes trips to Spurs, Liverpool & the swamp donkeys.

Taking this into account you would think the press coverage would be a teensy bit more positive, rather than putting it down to chelsea having an off day. Strange their 'off days' always seem happen when they play us.
