I think the question assumes a limited war in Europe a la Ukraine. Russians invading a NATO member eg Baltic states. They would need NATO boots on the ground to defend themselves.I don’t get why you’d need to conscript large parts of the population to go to war with Russia. We wouldn’t be doing D Day landings in St Petersburg to then march to Moscow, it would be a nuclear exchange where a few buttons would need to be pressed.

If we did isn’t that what NATO is there for where they can pool multiple countries’ resources together to fight a threat 31 member states would be able to bring together enough troops and far better equipment than Russia has to fight an army that has lost a lot of its equipment and trained soldiers in Ukraine.
They struggle to fight on multiple fronts in Ukraine and hide behind heavily mined areas of land. They try to go on the offensive in Europe it would end up badly for them.

Making out that todays youth arent as tough as you guys.
Nowt tough about coming home in a box mate.
Any conscription and my son would be hod in the cellar.
