Coppers-again

Most of those last night had been asked repeatedly to leave the scene beofre they kicked off and got nicked. As for the plod swearing, I'm damn sure if someone spat at me or repeatedly called me a tosser I'd do a lot more than swear at them.

Ye well maybe you would and maybe I would but then the police go on about not having the same respect that they used to do, its no wonder really! If you are going to be in a job like that you need to have a lot of self control and professionalism which I think a lot of the police don't have anymore!

The thing that struck me about all these episodes are what happens the morning after. Cautions, £80 fines and then tipped back onto the street.

I am not after the death penalty for littering, but I don't think the message is getting through. An example, the last 'incident' 2 lads, lashed up, wont go away and keep swearing, the copper snaps and pins one of them and in the melee a police woman gets an elbow in the nose. He got a caution. Now I understand that if the camera had not been there it may have been very different but then again it may not.

One of the plod said exactly the same thing last night-no detterent. They just turn up again the following week and do it all again.

We had a great system for teaching young lads how to behave and respect authority but the powers that be removed it, it was called national service

We also had a deterrent for unsociable behaviour, fighting, vandalism, basically being a prick, but once again the Lilly livered clowns that try to run this country removed it, that was called the birch,

Now having been in a few scrapes in my time and 99% of those being alcohol related if I had got the birch the first time I know for a fact there would not of been anymore episodes, but it took the threat of prison to make me realise it was not worth it, not no smack on the wrist. Fine or community service bollocks which was basically like getting off

A lot of these pi55heads will play up for the cameras. No doubt there's trouble up and down the country every weekend but shoving a camera in a drunk and angry mans face is only going to wind him up even more.

I suspect the two lads at the end would have been bellends even when sober. I tend to find that decent people are still decent when drunk. Twats are still twats when drunk.

Just got to be more harsh. So for example if someone is being a total prick and a pain in the arse, drag them along the floor then throw them into the cell with a no-nonsense approach. If they get a little cut, so what? They shouldn't be being a prick in the first place. They certainly won't do it again. Oh wait a minute....

On the other hand though you could offer them a nice warm cell with a blanket, pillow, a brew and a hearty stew, which is what I got when I once acted like a prick through drink. Luckily for me the experience of being arrested and celled for the night was enough alone to make me think twice, but some people would simply see that as an easy nights kip and will go and do it again and again and again.

Doesn't sound like any cop shop i've ever been in.
Wooden bed, wooden pillow and a stinking blanket.
Definitely no brew and stew, mind you the last time
i had the misfortune was about 28yrs ago.

How do you describe professionalism? Letting someone abuse, spit at and assualt you because you're wearing a uniform and getting paid for it? Don't make me laugh. If that's the case then I wonder what would happen if I decided to give a steward at the match a right ear full, then gobbed at him the punched him on the nose just because he's getting paid for it.I wonder if he'd just accept it as "part of the job" Somehow I doubt it.

They may receive a caution, but that's only in a minority of cases and as for a fine, you're having a laugh.

However if you're caught driving at 4mph over the speed limit, £60 thank you.

This country seriously is fucked up.

People know my views on the OB so going to try and be objective. However did any of you see how bad the attitude of the police were (in some cases) and how aggressive/arrogant they were? They epitomised the myth that a lot of them were bullied at school and wore the badge as an excuse to abuse their power.

Even those idiot young lads at the end who ended up hurting the WPC's nose, you can easily see how (if the cameras were not rolling) they could have been fixed up for punching her when infact it was completely accidental (although their behaviour was a disgrace and embarrassing)

It's quite obvious bb2 that you don't see the things others see. The lad at the end had been told numerous times to leave. He didn't then continued to shout and swear in the street. Whichever way you look at it, that's a public order offence whether you like it or not, it's the law. When he was then informed he was being arrested he then attempted to get away / stop them arresting him by fighting with the police at the scene. The police were aggresive towards him, in that situation I would have done exactly the same, you have to nullify any threat immediately by being more agressive than they are or you run the risk of being injured yourself. A bit like when you go into a tackle when playing football, if you don't go in properly the risk of you getting hurt is much greater.

A quick question....If you or your family had their house broken into, were mugged, assaulted or any other myriad of things, who would be the first people you phoned? I'll have a little bet with myself to what your answer will be.
