Poor Merlin can't lift the ball above the first defender.......we should have a regular corner taker who can pick out a blue shirt, not a fan of short corners either

Its shocking but its nothing new.We have immense talent and yet nobody can take a corner.....its baffling and also a travesty that we waste so much possession and opportunity because of such.
What makes it worse is,given our physicality,set pieces it should be one of major strengths.

And it's only last season (or the one before?) when wewwere the leading scorers from corners in the PL. This season though, our corners have been risible. Which is bizarre considering who takes a lot of them.

that's simply b/c of the sheer number of corners we had. today was what, like 15?
IMO for the deeper free kicks that Silva and Nasri take and for the corners it should always be Kolarov (if playing) who takes them, Milner next.
After a pacy goal-scoring dribbler, that is what this City team are missing. A great all round set piece taker

Yep, Kolarov from the right and Jimmy from the left.
Said the same but would like a stat how many times after it doesnt beat the first man how many times does the ball ends up at us or at the opponent.
Its like not just we fuck up a corner but we lose possession 75% times too and its not always a stragiht counter of course but we end up conceding goals from it or getting yellows for "tackling" a counter...
Some of our corners as bad as give away the ball at dangerous place.
15 corners and Courtois never even had to jump up once.
In the end we tried a few short corners, with not much success.
Maybe if Kolarov is there for a power cross, of course thanb can bounce off very bad too but also can be very lucky change of direction on a defender. To me more of a chance for find a striker than a simple cross from corner. (That finds Chelsea players like magnet.)
Long shots also werent used enough today, Fernandinho alone maybe had two efforts, not making on target...
