She wasn’t right. She thought the vaccine she’d had that was giving her hope was now obsolete and she and everyone would be locked away for another year while a new one was developed and that my not work if it mutates again.
It isn’t good people in their later years living alone fearing they might spend them locked away not being able to travel to see their grandchildren grow up, get married, graduate from university. Just because they listen to radio 2 all day or get the Daily Mail for their news.

She's half right. JVT said we should be concerned. The very fact that we've got surge testing going on in Moss Side and Fallowfield this morning just because we've found 4 cases tells you that the authorities are very worried. I am too. We've gone from finishing this in May to finishing it in October but I don't quite trust the picture we've been given.

It was only about a week ago that Novovax (coming to the UK potentially) claimed 60% effectiveness against the SA variant) so general scepticism is required.

Yes I don't agree with a lot of what is happening at all. The mental health impact is massive and the male suicide rates very high - the goverment has been taken over by the scientists who are now ordering people what to do every day.

Before all this vaccine talk blew up India was interesting as they seem to have hot herd immunity in their cities without ever having a lot of death. Clearly different regions and populations experience this differently. An age effect or past exposure to coronaviruses or something else?

Think the age will be a lot to do with it majority of deaths as we know are in the older population average UK age 40 whereas it's 26 in India

No, and more importantly my daughter working on a cancer ward, says no too. Her hospital came very close to being overwhelmed,she was ringing us up in tears some nights, the lockdown saved it. It’s just getting to manageable levels. Start of March is soon enough to begin some lifting.

I think you need to expand on what you believe you think I have said about not taking the vaccine.

You said you wouldn't be taking it when it was offered to you first time. You wanted to see how things panned out. We discussed this at length last autumn.

I think people forget about nurses, doctors and those that work on the front line when they think we shouldn't be in lockdown.

That's a bold assertion whilst we still have a very high infection rate, hospitals bulging and deaths still far too many.
