Latest Vaccine Update by Population Percentage for 10 GM boroughs

Borough/ First Dose / Both Doses / TODAY V YESTERDAY

BOLTON 70.8% / 44.1% V 70.6% / 43.6%

BURY 69.4% / 46.8% V 69.2% / 46.2%

MANCHESTER 49.9% / 27.9 % V 49.5% / 27.3%

OLDHAM 64.9 % / 42.4% V 64.7% / 41.9%

ROCHDALE 68.2% / 41.8% V 68.1% / 40.9%

SALFORD 56 9 % / 38.7 % V 56.4% / 38.3%

STOCKPORT 72.8% / 51.2% V 72% / 50.9%

TAMESIDE 69.9% / 46.1% V 69.7% / 45.9%

TRAFFORD 71.5% / 47% V 70.9% / 46.2%

WIGAN 72.5% / 49.4% V 72.4% / 48.7%

Manchester close to finally getting over 50% first doses. Did ot quite do it today. Tomorrow hopefully.

Stockport still the only one over 50% for both doses. And highest first doses.

Trafford and Stockport rose the most today above the areas in most need. Double the rise in Bolton and Bury.

That needs to change. Though Bolton is well up on where it was 3 weeks ago.

Greater Manchester

Weekly total cases:-

Tameside 114, Trafford 162, Oldham 161, Rochdale 208, Stockport 225 , Bury 231, Wigan 263, Salford 293. Manchester 588, Bolton 1051.

Bolton is falling towards sub 1000 which is good news. And less than double Manchester now when it was 5 or 6 times a week ago.

But the others are rising faster than Bolton is falling.

Even Tameside who ten days ago were scoring 1 and 3 in a day ernt over 100 weekly cases. And only 3 of them now as Bolton - who had lowest cases 10 days ago has muktiplied 6 times since then.

This probably shows even more clearly than the Pop Scores do how things are switching daily.

Just been looking at your figures for GM for the last five days, although they are rising there doesn't appear to be any consistency. Starting at Wednesday the figures are 395, 604, 751, 392, 532 the last three days have been a roller coaster. It will be interesting to see how it pans out over the next few days.
Yes a lot riding on the next week or two.. With so much spot testing going on around GM that will be a factor in the ups and downs. Hence why I use Positivity numbers where they are available.

You do 1000 tests one day and find 100 cases that is a positivity rating on 10%. They do 2000 tests next day and find 150 cases it looks like a big rise in case numbers unles you know the test numbers and can see the positivity number has actally fallen from 10% to 7.5%

Unfortunately England do nt bother with this number - uniquely amongst the nations. And it is all but impossible to work our now with all these quick tests that have to be confirmed by other tests and often are not so get removed a day or two later. Especially as last week Gov UK decided to ignore this and post raw numbers and if any of these tests get removed - as they will - a day or two later with a confirmatory test being negative to only change the overall number NOT the local ones day to day.

So numbers are jumping up and down more than ever likely for that reason. Some days the number is down because lots of recent tests were disconfirmed and other days they jump up because more of them were confirmed.

It makes the numbers day to day less important than the week to week one that are a bit more finalised. Hence why I do the weekly Pop score table as these show a picture of the trending.

Thanks for taking the time to do that, they aren't exactly helping people understand what's going on with their moving of the goalposts.

I see Breakfast News are running headlines about “Freedom could be delayed”. I must have dreamt I’ve spent this weekend in Porto watching City. Life’s what you make it.

The pandemic is the best thing to happen for the media in decades so they never want it to end, otherwise they'll go back to producing boring news/current affairs programmes hardly anyone watches.

It is indeed. And Manchester was getting on with life yesterday, filling out the pubs in the Shambles, Stevenson Square and Ancoats and enjoying the sun in our wonderful city. Hard to see what freedom we lack now, though the pubs will be pleased to get shot of log-in, masks and reduced capacity.

My lad is looking forward to summer and had a gig booked at Rebellion in late June. If live music (standing, not seated) is back we'll all feel real life has returned.

It’s going to be another busy day today for the pubs. The Sun will be out and a lot of people will be having a good time. I’m heading out for a walk that will be interrupted with a beer stop or 2.

Government minister..21 June could be delayed by a few weeks..so says the telegraph. That said all over 50s to be double jabbed by then..the race is on

Looks like there are problems in SE Asia: Vietnam, China, Afghanistan, Malaysia etc. None reporting high numbers but looks like the Indian variant is there now whilst it declines in India. I suppose that is inevitable.

Absolutely ridiculous they are thinking of a delay.

you can still go round to see your family
you can still go and see your mates
you can still go pub
you can still go to restaurants
you can travel anywhere in the UK and some destinations abroad
you can go cinema
you can go gym
more importantly, you can go for a nice walk, listen and review my album selection

what exactly is it you need so much for your mental well being ?

All of the above for now

Vietnam have told all expats to leave the country

all the above will be in place after 21st
Hope your right. Trying to avoid the news, maybe that's what I need to do.
Just seems to be ever changing goalposts again that are pissing people off and to me that is counter productive at this stage. What I mean is the vaccines were meant to mean freedom yet here we are again with SAGE suggesting we are in a 3rd wave and they want a delay for a few weeks, when will this end?

Surely the vaccines were meant to mean more or less total freedom? this will make some people reluctant to have 1 (or their 2nd) if this circus carries on much longer if vaccines are still restricting people.
