Fans have to leave the Djokovic match soon because of the 11pm curfew over in Paris. Ridiculous!

I’m on holiday at the moment, in the swimming pool no social distancing happen , but the pubs , restaurants, rides and show places all make you mask and sanitize

but what I noticed the people with the lanyards look very un healthy people and there is so many over weight people here, tucking into 4 servings off buffet food
Las Vegas?
N

naaa I wish, tots week at butlins
Fat cunts everywhere mate.

what I mentioned the other day

You can right now do pretty much anything you want , go gym , go pub , go swim, go beach, go dogging !

why sit on here moaning about lockdown when really, we haven’t got one right now.

I think we're in a bit of a middle ground at the moment, and I certainly wouldn't say you can do pretty much anything you want.

Compared to a few months ago then life is undoubtedly much less restrictive, and plenty of social things have returned as you mention.

But (speaking personally though I'm sure this is applicable to others) the things I really want to do still can't be done.
With international travel prohibitive, gigs and events still on the shelf and live football only in it's infancy of returning, the big aspects and passions of my life pre-Covid have yet to come back.

I appreciate that if you're someone who is quite content with going for a drink or meal out and not overly fussed about other stuff as above then life is perhaps close to normal these days. Shops are open, weather is good.

But for me, I wanna travel, watch City in a full stadium and go to gigs (proper gigs, not the socially distant shite), and none can be done at the moment.

Like I said, feels like a middle ground where we ain't in a lockdown but we also await the return of various things.
Will just have to be patient I guess.

So what do you suggest then? Stay in and out of lockdown forever for an incredibly small minority? My Mum is highly vulnerable if she ever gets a chest infection due to scarring on her lungs post pneumonia, I don’t think we should lockdown every winter to reduce the chance of her catching one as it’s just not practical.
I’m suggesting nothing.
Just putting right a know all gob shite who posted a lie.

The number of people who can’t have the jab for medical reasons is tiny and is mainly around allergic reactions. My mother had her first jab whilst having cancer in her lung, liver, eyes and brain. She didn’t live to get her second jab but we were glad she had been vaccinated as she had carers 4 times per day. This idea that there are lots of people out there who can’t have the vaccine is incorrect.
Evidence for such an assertion please

I'm with you here,, and in my eyes we should be been able to go and do as we please now,
How long does this go on for, what we waiting for cause I don't get it now.
Deaths are down to a minimum, having both doses even if you go into hospital you should be OK.
I know people have lost lots through this and yes it will be more personal for them. But I believe the date in June should stand and all and I mean all restrictions should be lifted

By every metric and all four tests the government laid out we are doing better than the best case scenario as modelled by sage. No excuse to delay stage 4.

They do, deary me. They just don't die - as a rule.
FYI, In the first week of May 36 under 18 years were admitted out 564 cases. These 36 cases mostly likely had underlying health conditions. You can tell this is random health conditions by plotting the numbers over the days

It's far more stocastic than any other age groups which means there's a random effect (underlying health conditon) making the noise

The Government have to decide on whether 2 of the tests are being met.

  1. Infection rates do not risk a surge in hospitalisations which would put unsustainable pressure on the NHS
  2. The assessment of the risks is not fundamentally changed by new variants of concern.

*Stochastic. I don't really see it? The visible noise seems due to the predictable effect of the plot being of a series of smaller integers - the quantum is a larger proportion of the datum.

Then there's the resolution of the plot, which I just can't ignore. It looks very obviously like the software uses an algorhythm to preserve readability at higher scales. Source? I mean, assuming you are talking about the daily variation. Otherwise I'm not sure what you mean.

Anyway, I'd need more to conclude this was evidence of 'an' underlying *condition. Records or reports of underlying *conditions would indicate underlying *conditions.

Not that they aren't a big factor.

But whatever... it's hardly the same as kids don't get ill, is it?

Maybe calm down in your claims a bit?

"Make no mistake - we'd only protecting vax conspiracy nuts"

"Kids don't get ill."

OTT, mate. You're not qualifying these statements at all - but you can't possibly think they are unequivocally true, can you?

It's a very difficult time, but surely that means we have to remain vigilent and disciplined, and reject the opportunity to blather things out that make us feel better but which are downright untruthful or misleading. It's just winding people up, and that doesn't help anyone deal with reality.

This is going to the wire, isn't it ? If numbers in hospital continue to spike like they have done this last week they'll be too much uncertainty about pressure on hospitals. Even if that pressure is largely in the North West.

I agree mate. The Government also have to factor in the estimated result of easing the last restrictions, to a finely balanced decision.

I am not convinced that we are ready for a free for all on international travel. That’s the biggest stumbling block IMHO
