It doesn't work like that, not this time.

A global pandemic isn't confined by what is best for you, it is everyone's problem.

Hence why is doesn't respect age, title or wealth.

If everyone took your view, we would have bodies stacking up the streets.

For context, thousands of families never got to say goodbye or attend the funeral of a loved one, yet some selfish pricks think it is okay because it doesn't impact them.

If it were down to me, and I'm sure you and plenty of other like-minded people would thank fuck it's not, they would not be able to do Jack shit without the jab.

I do agree that everyone should have it, but herd immunity is not 100% so it allows for those that don’t want it to have it, or can’t have it not impact anyone else. It’s a personal choice and looking at age groups it’s been open to, the take up is over 90% which is more than enough.

What the fuck happened to society, seriously?

I'm alright Jack, (no this ain't a reference to Grealish;)

How many people die each year of hunger or poverty, yet as long as we don't see or hear of it, we can just forget it because, well, it doesn't serve my interest?

Thanks to bollocks there are people who took the view that the greatest thing we can do in life is to help others, otherwise we are no better than a plague of locust.

Covid ripped me in two, a relatively young, fit man with two beautiful kids and a wife who I adore.

I lost my business, but I actually grew up.

It humbled and shamed me to know there are people out there every day who put others first before themselves.

Anyone refusing the jab needs to remember one day they will need the help of someone they have never met before in their life, probably to save it.

Looking like 95% will be required, thanks to Delta. 90% would probably have been fine with Alpha to contend with.

And if we let it get to Zeta or whatever before we get around to a global push to vaccinate everywhere then it will be 100% and we will have screwed ourselves via selfishness.

That alone makes not creating consequences for those who choose not to have the jab to be wrong.

It should not be forced on anyone but if it is a voluntary decision not to bother - and not medically dictated - then they should have to accept things like restrictions on travel and what they can do until the pandemic ends globally for making that choice.

And if that ending is the 12th of never thanks to the refuseniks then they can blame who they like but the answer will be in the mirror.

Well said. And I hope you and yours are ok mate.

Anti vaxxers are fucking scum.

Cases across the regions:

Change in last 24 hrs V seven days ago

SOUTH

East UP 200 to 427 V 201 - big rise here day to day and wk to wk

London Up 64 to 1068 V 669 - almost doubled wk to wk

South East UP 145 to 651 V 440

South West UP 109 to 384 V 132 - tripled here as the warm weather and beaches beckoned

South starting to show clear signs of going into the similar as NW escalation phase.

MIDLANDS

East UP 10 to 352 V 195

West UP 19 to 473 V 315

Edging up here too

NORTH

North East UP 18 to 320 V 113 - new high and tripled over the week

Yorkshire DOWN 100 to 607 V 421 - big fall here but still up wk to wk

AND

NORTH WEST DOWN 136 to 1976 V 1643 - Biggest fall of the day and easily the lowest wk to wk increase in some time (see below)

Also GM did better than the NW average in contributing to this drop today.

Past weeks NW numbers are 1643 -1755 - 1752 - 1605 - 1673 - 1840 - 2112 - 1976

Equivalent NW numbers a week earlier 1025 -1251 - 781 - 935 - 1038 - 780 - 1158 - 1643

GM numbers 878 - 945 - 932 - 827 - 825 - 950 - 1062 - 984

Full GM details:

Total cases 984 - Down 76 on Yesterday - which is good as NW fell by 136 on the day and this is more than the share expected by population.

Wk to wk up 106 of the NW rise of 333- also well under the expected 50%.

So GM not rising as fast as some areas in NW are week to week. Another better day again here.

BOROUGH / CASES TODAY / V YESTERDAY / V LAST WEEK

BOLTON 103 / DOWN 30 / DOWN 14

BURY 68 / DOWN 15 / UP 13

MANCHESTER 223 / DOWN 67 / UP 3

OLDHAM 62 / UP 5 / UP 33

ROCHDALE 64 / DOWN 1 / UP 6

SALFORD 131 / UP 16 / UP 26

STOCKPORT 77 / DOWN 35 / DOWN 28

TAMESIDE 62 / UP 18 / UP 28

TRAFFORD 67 / UP 1 / UP 4

WIGAN 127 / UP 30 / UP 35

Stockport and Bolton had good falls day to day and week to week, Manchester not far off down on both measures either, Salford did not quite do the same but at least it was not big numbers.

Wigan probably had the worst day.

Bolton down in 4th place cases wise today is very promising progress.

A way to go and may just be a one off but as I suggested yesterday today might turn out to be a pivotal day and it has. Let us see if it stays on track.

Greater Manchester

Weekly total cases:-

Tameside 326, Oldham 356, Rochdale 413, Trafford 437, Bury 450, Stockport 667, Wigan 690, Salford 771, Bolton 903, Manchester 1502.

Manchester is now 600 clear. Bolton second but Salford closing in fast. With Wigan not far behind.

We must hope the flattening off continues and a fall follows that soon.

Nobody now left below 300.

2 or 3 weeks ago Bolton was 20 - 30 times more than most in GM now it is less than 3 times anyone.

GM Weekly Pop Data after today:~

Borough / Pop Today / 7 days ago / up or down wk to wk/ Testing is % of local population who have tested positive for Covid over past year.

As ever with Pop going up is bad, going down good - the higher the number the better or worse depending on direction moving. The Pop is total cases in past week versus 100,000 POPulation to even out the comparison versus size and expected cases based on numbers living there.

Salford 298 / 167 / UP 131 Testing positive 9.6%

Bolton 287 / 346 / DOWN 59 Testing positive 10.9%

Manchester 272 / 174 / UP 98 Testing positive 10.3%

Bury 238 / 158 / UP 80 Testing positive 9.6%

Stockport 227 / 130 / UP 97 Testing positive 7.6%

Wigan 210 / 102 / UP 108 Testing positive 9.3%

Rochdale 186 / 108 / UP 78 Testing positive 10.1 %

Trafford 184 / 107 / UP 77 Testing positive 7.4

Oldham 163 / 76 / UP 87 Testing positive 10.1%

Tameside 141 / 75 / UP 66 Testing positive 8.5

BIG NEWS Bolton not top of GM weekly Pop scores for first time in 3 weeks.

It is because of its better numbers and Salford rising numbers lately. Salford now takes over. But I expect the media will notice that next week.

By then Manchester may be above Bolton too.

Stockport has had a better day and falls a little meaning Bury went back above.

The weekly rises are lower in many places too - a sign of the stabilising of numbers in many boroughs,

Flattening off is step one in the right direction.

We need to see some real downward movement before we can start to think real control on numbers will follow.

But a pretty good day for GM today.

Notice from the vaccination data btw that the two GM boroughs with the lowest numbers vaccinated have the two highest number of cases today. And are likely to have the two highest Pop Scores also within the next day or so,

Likely this is not a coincidence.

Of 735 cases in Scotland today

20 in people aged 65+
106 in people aged 45-64

281 in people aged 25-44
324 in people aged 0-24 (Inclusive of 121 aged 0-14)

******************

1 death aged 85+

******************

18.5k first doses
31.5k second doses

Be interested to watch out for the hospital figures tomorrow, Friday's tend to be a biggish day for patient add ons.

Then you have places like Clackmannanshire which has both high vaccine coverage and very high case rates. Might be an anomaly but I've seen the same comparisons with a few places south of the border, bizarre.

She is a bit of a nutter though as she's one of the several members of the Stalinist Communist Party of Great Britain.

I mentioned a few days ago about too many ‘experts’ enjoying the time in the limelight and will be gutted when this is all over as they will have to slip back to the shadows. Shes one
