Nicola Sturgeon flagged this up a week ago and explained exactly what was happening. I reported it then even though nobody else did in the actual media outside Scotland as far as I saw.

I have been laughed at in here more than once for always reporting her briefings but this is why.

Regardless of motive (and I expect there is often a degree of nationalism anti UK slant as that's her job) she still gives the facts.

The UK government have said nothing but the England vaccination number yesterday was the lowest in weeks.

That was kept quiet.

We only know why because of that briefing a week ago in Scotland. Regardless of why she said it we deserved to be in the loop and it should be coming in the UK press conferences.

We have also been told repeatedly ( I have counted 6 times now in the last 24 hours) by ministers and media that we are still above the peak hospital patients of the first wave.

That is untrue and has been untrue now for 4 days.

If numbers rise today it might change but the trend has been down for three weeks now so hopefully not.

I prefer to hear the facts as they actually are and not the ones people want you to hear for whatever reason they choose to mislead. As free from politics as possible.

This is why I started looking for the data myself and posting it here. To remove the spin.

Then at least you get to decide on the facts not the perception of the facts someone wants you to have.

I thought it was odd that Zahawi this morning said that he was confident on supply overall for the next 6 weeks.

As ever, he waffled and avoided questions far too much, but I thought that was at odds with Sturgeon.

There doesn't seem any good reason to support the thing about peak hospital numbers vs current numbers, which makes it all the more odd.

There was an employment lawyer on the radio yesterday who said under current legislation no one can be sacked for refusing the vaccine but anyone being employed in the future will have to have the jab if the employer insists on it. I'm guessing your wife's friend will have to be reassigned to other duties but as you say, she's selfish and it's beyond belief these people like her are putting others at risk.

It’s a grey area I think as I’ve also read that you have a responsibility to protect the health and safety of colleagues and others you come into contact with.

She can be sacked

Every shop or entertainment venue should refuse entry to anyone not vaccinated. Kids shouldn't be allowed in bars anyway and we could finally get rid of the family stand at the Etihad. Education might be a problem so maybe seperate schools for kids from unvaccinated families could be set up.

If people want to go on holiday and not be vaccinated then they shouldn't be allowed to leave the country. We should take passports off them to ensure they don't travel. There are plenty of nice places in england we could set up camps for them.

Businesses should also not be forced to employ unvaccinated people. They bring the rest of the workforce down and many unvaccinated people are stupid and lazy.

We would have to be careful not to remove too many public services from people who haven't been vaccinated so we would need to ensure transport and stuff is still available for them. We would need to be careful that they don't infect the vaccinated so maybe they could have a special seating area at the back of buses or something.

Of course all of these measures are futile if an unvaccinated person can move into my street and infect us all. If I wanted to sell my house and had an unvaccinated family next door i would lose so much value which would be totally unfair. We should provide housing for all the unvaccinated so they can be around people like themselves. Also I would be anxious about my kids playing cricket with a kid from an unvaccinated family.

I can envisage a few problems. Their might be mixed marriages for instance where an unvaccinated guy marries a vaccinated woman. We should try and prevent that happening where possible otherwise the vaccine might get watered down. People who refuse to be vaccinated should actually be discouraged where possible from having children. Unvaccinated people tend to raise unvaccinated children which leads to a cycle of disease. They will be healthier and society will benefit if kids aren't raised in those situations. In some circumstances it might be appropriate to remove children from families and educate them to be more like vaccined people.

I've also heard some vaccinated kids are listening to music from unvaccinated musicians and artists. What if they decide to copy those unvaccinated musicians? Some of this stuff should be banned to protect our kids.

Sorry for the long ramble and I fear i may have neglected to get my booster jab. Luckily i can have my blood tested for vaccine purity to make sure I still have the right quality of blood pumping through my veins. I can't wait to go skiing at half term

The ONS study of anti bodies looks very positive news for the efficacy of the vaccine.

The over 80s antibody rates rising from 25.7 to 40.9% - biggest increase in any age range since last study.

Pretty strong suggestive evidence that the vaccine did this.

Coinciding with the lowering percentage of over 80s dying in the daily England hospital numbers this is something anti vaxers will need to come up with another way to explain.

It is all but undeniable now the vaccines do what they are designed to do.

Feel sick to the stomach. Months of my aunties and brother saying anti-vax conspiracy nonsense to my mum and she's now hesitant re vaccines. An intelligent, usually considered woman. The danger of this stuff. Breaks my heart.
Just show her some footage of people dying with Covid, no relatives to comfort
them and the agonising death they suffer when they can't breathe, short, sharp shock.

That anti bodies for Covid study also found three regions - London, North West and West Midlands - in that order of prevalence - had over 20 % of all ages with antibodies. London was around 25% and North West around 22%.

South West at under 12% was the lowest.

The England average was about 18%.
