Yes. It really is. I retired early to sit in public bars and pub gardens listening to folk talking garbage and occasionally look up from reading a book to chip in my two penn'orth.

Pubs are vital to the nation's mental health, particularly the old and lonely. Just look how desperate people are to be outside in queues for coffee chatting at the moment.

Can't wait for the 12th, just hope Council licensing regulations allow pubs enough scope to open gardens viably.

a pub near us put up a large scaffolded structure with tarp over it last September/October in anticipation of a winter re-opening which never came. The landlord is now saying it cant stay due to planning permission laws and temporary/permanent structures so i hope, as you say, council regs are looked upon a bit more....sensibly this spring/summer

Not everyone in prison are sex offenders etc some are in for fines, petty shop lifting etc,I wonder how many on this forum have gotten away with things they would have been locked up for a fair few I bet, not all are bad people some just act stupid at times
I doubt anyone gets jailed for a single act of stupidity in the UK.

I saw the reopening of pubs with gardens as a small thing. Not worth the hassle, might as well as well take a flask to the park. People at my work are booking days off for that week?? Christ. Is it really worth booking a day off for?

I think there's going to be a lot of this in the next year, people booking time off for work for seemingly quite trivial things.
If you have been fortunate enough to still be working in this past year you've probably got annual leave entitlement stacked up like never before (because let's be honest you've not really had any reason to take much time off, you've not been able to go anywhere or do anything)!

precisely, ive got a bit of a backlog of annual leave (luckily for me) and so ive booked off 3 random days in May, keeping my fingers crossed for some sun - im going to go on a few long walks, take a book and take in a few pubs along the route, sounds ruddy glorious and i would never have done it previously.

I can’t wait to go for a beer with my mates . Can’t wait to go for a beer with my brother and city mates . I can’t wait to back to normality of going to the pub after a walk . It’s what people like doing , I don’t get pissed , just miss the social side of meeting up .Yes I realise pubs are only opening gardens but I will take that thanks .
I am looking forward to seeing City bring some silverware back to the streets in Manchester. That will be the first sign of normality returning!

My hopes of herd immunity being quickly acquired this Spring are not going to happen but we should be able to manage this through till the start of next season when a 2nd round of vaccination should end this.

Funny how clearer the mind is at 9am. :P I was awake 1am-4am last night - rotten nights sleep. Good point about pub gardens for older folk. That's the thing I like about this forum - people open your mind a bit further. By time April comes, most people over 50 will have been vaccinated I think won't they?

Got my letter from the NHS on 26 March, (64 years old) booked both jabs online straight away and had the first one yesterday morning. No side-effects whatsoever. Must say I was very impressed with the whole process from start to finish, the people at the centre (in Northampton) were lovely, very professional, organised and efficient. Many thanks to all involved.

I hope so I'm under 50 and hopefully get my first jab mid April

A quick look at the vaccine calculator and I'm now down for 7/4 its coming down..

Very much depends on where you are. Salford doing all over 50s now (my wife had her first yesterday evening) & there are reports of some areas already into the over 40s. Now that supply has improved I'd expect no holding back of those areas bombing ahead.
