Yes , decided last week by the scientists , second doses are being done up to three months time but one gives you good protection, with the huge increase in cases they are wanting to get as many people vaccinated with one immediately

She is being hysterical and not understanding
Its harsh to say hysterical and over reacting in my view. This is a political decision. Pfizer themselves say there isn't enough evidence to say longer than 3 weeks between doses is as effective.
The UK regulator approved both vaccines on 3 weeks gap and now that's changed and there just isn't the evidence.
I like many on here am clinically extremely vulnerable and was very happy with the Pfizer as was at 95% but now I'm not sure.

Pfizer have said there is no guarantee that immunity will not drop off if the 21 days’ is not stuck to. Any decision to deviate on this on the advice of SAGE or other government advisors is without evidential basis.

also, I know of an NHS trust that is currently still proceeding on the basis that the second dose is to be given on the 3 week later period and have not been told to do otherwise up to now.

As a bald fella who works out at home now I’ve got beard and hair clippers and weights :-)

Staring at my clippers and weights giving them the all knowing nod. Never been a better time to be a bald bastard

People seem to have taken from Johnson's statement that the lockdown will be for 6 weeks.

This is not what he said, and almost certainly not true.

What he said was that if 2 million per week can be vaccinated, then the four most vulnerable groups will have had the jab in 6 weeks.

1. 2 million per week is an absolute best case scenario. Unlikely, not impossible.

2. It takes 2-3 weeks for immunity. So that takes you to 8 weeks absolute minimum.

3. Hospitals will still be full of the already sick and dying. That will take a few weeks to clear.

So 8 weeks is the absolute best possible case. 12 weeks is probably realistic; 6 weeks is not possible. I'd love to believe 6 weeks, but it's hard to imagine I'm afraid.
