At least as long as people who catch Covid so at least 6 months in the vast majority of cases. How much longer than 6 months is uncertain. Last night’s Channel 4 News showed another surge in cases in Bergamo in Italy, further underlining that “herd immunity” without vaccination isn’t achievable.
I was hoping we'd never really know but the outbreaks again in the same areas of Italy will highlight how long having had it covers you from getting it again and stop all this herd immunity talk.

Hopefully Italy will also learn if the go down the area lockdown route to not let thousands flee in trains before beginning it too.

I think a lot of Countries need to learn from late lockdowns in the earlier waves mate. I remember Italian doctors at the start of the pandemic in Europe, pleading with us / the U.K. to get ready whilst Cheltenham was allowed to go ahead etc. We only locked down after the U.K. public did this voluntarily, stopping using public transport etc.

I wonder if another pandemic came in a few years would we prepared to lockdown hard and early? FWIW see today that New Zealand has no active cases in the Community or under investigation.

You really would hope everyone especially politicians/governments learn but as we've seen with the AZ issues there seems someway to go with that.

Fantastic for NZ but they do have the benefit of natural isolation due to location.

True mate. I think some South Asia Countries. Hopefully, we have seen the last big wave of this pandemic.

No it's not ridiculous. It's dome for a very good reason. Keep the R rate down. Do it by stages. Have a look what's going on in Europe.
They’re rejecting the vaccine. That’s what.

over here meanwhile no point getting one
