Greater Manchester is well up too - but actually does pretty well V those NW numbers.

Of that daily rise of 1543 in the region GM rise by 459 - which is certainly not a high split of the region and a bit better than average.

Week to week the NW is up 52 but GM is actually down by 8. So certainly no issue there either.

Friday has been the highest case number of the week in the region in the past couple of weeks.

Within GM - everyone up on the day without exception and some by a lot.

Week to week - the more important - sees Bury, Manchester, Salford, Tameside and Wigan all UP.

Just as Zoe has it today by the way Salford had the worst day up by 41 on last week

The other 5 boroughs are down mostly by small numbers.

The best week to week falls were Rochdale down 43 and Stockport down 35.

It's quite hard to identify and follow the discussion between all those status reports. Can we maybe have another thread for those? It's annoying at some point, isn't it?

A lot find them very useful. If they aren't to your tastes then I recommend that you put the poster on ignore so you can get through the thread more easily.

Wouldn't it even more helpful to have them in a separate thread? I don't want to ignore a poster who can be a decent poster. Another thread would help both sides.

I haven't seen a direct reaction on a status report in this thread for a very long time. They are not part of the discussion. I don't want them to disappear but separated for those interested in.

ENGLAND REGIONS TODAY V LAST WEEK

EAST UP 79 TO 4074 V 4796 - DOWN 722 IN WEEK - Huge switch and North West way ahead today

LONDON UP 142 TO 3615 V 3928 - DOWN 313 IN WEEK

SOUTH EAST UP 141 TO 6424 V 7347 - DOWN 923 IN WEEK STILL THE HIGHEST REGION BUT ONLY 1300 ABOVE THE NORTH WEST

SOUTH WEST DOWN 577 TO 4203 V 6050 - DOWN 1847 IN WEEK - BIG FALLS AGAIN HERE AD NOW 1000 BELOW THE NORTH WEST

BIG CHANGE OVER TODAY AS NORTH RISES AND SOUTH DROPS. AND NORTH WEST WILL SOON BE THE HIGHEST REGION AGAIN - NOT FOURTH OR FIFTH - IF IT CONTINUES BUT WILL IT? WE WILL HAVE TO SEE WHAT NEXT WEEK BRINGS

EAST MIDLANDS UP 235 TO 3085 V 3394 - DOWN 309 IN WEEK

WEST MIDLANDS UP 653 TO 3699 V 4295 - DOWN 596 IN WEEK

NORTH EAST UP 187 TO 2071 V 2037 - UP 34 IN WEEK

YORKSHIRE UP 1099 TO 4025 V 3997 - UP 28 IN WEEK

AND

NORTH WEST UP 1543 TO 5141 V 5089 - UP 52 IN WEEK - BIGGEST EVER RISE ON DAY

STARK DIFFERENCE BETWEEN NORTH AND SOUTH HAS CHANGED THE PICTURE

NORTH WEST NOW SECOND HIGHEST REGION BEHIND SOUTH EAST AND YET PRETT SMALL RISES WEEK TO WEEK IN ALL THE NORTHERN REGIONS - JUST UP 114 FOR ALL THREE ADDED TOGETHER!

GREATER MANCHESTER 1808 A RISE OF 459 WHEN NORTH WEST RISES BY 1543 - WHICH IS BELOW EXPECTATION - GOOD NEWS WITH A RISE SLIGHTLY UNDER PAR

PERCENTAGE OF NORTH WEST TOTAL:- 35.2%

YESTERDAY WAS 37.5% so a good fall for from better numbers

LAST WEEK GM 1816 - SO A WEEKLY FALL OF 8 WHEN THE NW IS UP BY 52 - TINY NUMBERS BUT ON THE RIGHT SIDE WHEN A FALL VERSUS A RISE

GM PERCENTAGE OF NW TOTAL OF 5089 :- WAS 35.7% LAST WEEK SO TODAY IS A SLIFGHT DROP ON THAT

GOOD DAY FOR GM

I can see the argument about the data making it hard to follow discussions.

We have talked about it in here before and I have told Ric several times over the course of the pandemic I am OK with them being in a data thread. So I have no issue with doing that OR stopping posting them entirely or just the key numbers on request.

It really is fine by me either way.

Though in the past such a thread was not created because more were following them - you are right I also suspect only a very few do these days.

Which I see as good news. It means we are getting there. When it is just me we will have arrived!

As long as the posts stay somewhere I can access because I only have time to do the posting by using the previous days message as a template for the next days. Does not really matter to me where they actually are housed. And I suspect my family will think it a good day when I do let go and stop posting them anywhere.

Will enjoy getting back to writing another book that will have nothing to do with numbers or Covid!

I ended up posting in here at nearly 2 am yesterday as I was on deadline for the column that I write for a magazine once a month and that had to take priority. Again nothing at all to do with Covid.

*LOWEST RISE TODAY

OLDHAM 113 UP 18 on day DOWN 7 on week Total Cases 41,822 POP SCORE 17,600 (TODAY 48)

Notes:

Stockport had an OK day today. Trafford did too and had the same Pop Score as Stockport so the lead of Stockport across the pandemic stayed at 336. Trafford easily entered the 16K club today leaving Stockport as last one stamding in the 15Ks. At todays level it is about 3 or 4 days behind or at yesterdays 5 or 6 but it will join Trafford there sometime next week.

Oldham still has the highest Pop Score across the pandemic for real but Zoe has it falling and Salford rising and today justified that by cutting 10 off the gap to now just be 304 ahead of Salford.

GM boroughs weekly past 7 day case totals:

Oldham 695, Salford 793, Bolton 803, Bury 815, Rochdale 929, Tameside 1001, Trafford 1172, Wigan 1209, Stockport 1369, Manchester 1575

More changes as some rose and others fell and Stockport gained on both Manchester and Wigan.

Very close now for lowest scores behind Oldham who are pulling clear of Salford and Bolton with Bury trailing. These four are clear of the rest.

Tameside went back over 1000. Just!

Stockport fell well today but Wigan are now 160 below. Manchester's lead over Stockport went up and is now 206 (UP 41 today).

Do not stop posting data unless YOU want to, this is the only place/thread to give what I'd deem proper unbiased analysis of figure fluctuations.

GM WEEKLY POP SCORES

Remember low scores good - going down good - high scores bad - going up bad

BOROUGH // POP SCORE TODAY // POP SCORE LAST WEEK // UP OR DOWN BY LAST 7 DAYS

Also WAS 4 weeks ago (up/down in past month)

BOLTON 279 // 300 // DOWN 21 WAS 246 (UP 33)

MANCHESTER 283 // 329 //DOWN 46 WAS 216 (UP 67)

OLDHAM 293 // 317 // DOWN 24 WAS 316 (DOWN 23)

SALFORD 302 // 388 // DOWN 86 WAS 300 (UP 2)

WIGAN 365 // 407 // DOWN 42 WAS 329 (UP 36)

ROCHDALE 416 // 483 // DOWN 67 WAS 236 (UP 180)

TRAFFORD 493 // 596 // DOWN 103 WAS 512 (DOWN 19)

HALF FELL AND HALF ROSE TODAY A LOT AND JUST THREE NOW BACK UNDER 300 AND NOBODY NOW HIGHER THAN THE 400s - A MUCH BETTER PICTURE THAN A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO

Rochdale has the worst increase month to month but Bury is now closing in behind and the only one not falling week to week too,

Trafford fell less than Stockport so increased to 27 ahead of Stockport as both fell today.

Bolton still top - and below the 300 barrier. But Salford rising on Zoe lots and doing so now for real too.

The top to bottom number is down to 214 and falling daily.

It was over 600 when Trafford first went stratospheric following Stockport.

The whole table looks a lot less scary than it did a couple of weeks ago before numbers started improving.

Got the old fella sorted now thanks to the advice on here, 15:48 appointment Wednesday at Stalybridge Labour Club, just about a couple of miles from his house. Many thanks for the help and advice, BM is like a Citizens Advice Centre but better, cheers.

I’m out of isolation today so took the dog for a walk earlier. Was really breathless when I got back and only walked around a half a mile. Obviously not quite as recovered as I thought I was. The cold air and exertion had me gasping when I got in. It’s been a tough week or so with lots of nasty symptoms. Not something I want again in a hurry. Second only to Swine Flu for potency. That knocked me out for 3 weeks.

we got another Covid thread in the politics section

we don’t need anymore.

We probably do indeed, I don't pull that out of thin air. It's not a big story either, it's just for usability. Even HealdPlace agrees.
