It was 132 deaths reported only 3 weeks ago, as you say as numbers reach low levels we'll see days like this.
As you know I usually post a wk to wk comparison of the England hospital numbers and the wk to wk fall (as it usually is) for that reason. This is the first non fall wk to wk in a while so it had to be mentioned.

Where in Wales are you located?

Here in NE Wales I had my first jab exactly 2 weeks ago. I am nearly the age as you BTW, just 1 year younger. My wife is 54 and had her jab the day after me.
Hawarden in north Wales.. I’ve been chasing mine for weeks as SWMBO has Lymphoma and I didn’t want to be responsible for taking the virus home to her.. the communication re the vaccination programme has been shocking.. Sue had to chase hers.. I’ve had to chase mine yet Mark Drakeford has taken every opportunity to say how fantastic his team’s handling of the situation has been

43 England hospital deaths:- by region

Yorkshire 13, Midlands 11. North West 8, South West 7, London 2, East 1, South East 1

Doncaster 5 is the most in one trust, 2 in Salford the most in North West.

That South West number likely has a lot of catch up from an end of month audit. It did last month.

However, there were 27 deaths out of the 43 dated to the past 3 days and last week there were 28 from the previous three days then - so there is a bit of a genuine stall here with a 'true' weekly fall of only 1.

One England hospital death added today was from 18 Jan - the peak day of this wave.

It takes the total for that day to 872.It was 764 after 5 days.

The last 2 five day totals for 27 and 28 Mar are currently sitting on 18 and 19.

A giant drop

Though there HAS been slight uptick since which needs watching. As these are at

29 Mar = 27 after 4 days

30 Mar = 26 after 3 days

31 Mar = 27 after 2 days.

That said yesterday only added 2 deaths - the lowest first day total in England since 27 September.

18 January added 108 within that same first 24 hours.

Yes, it stands out after uninterrupted decline. Only takes a handful of cases to distort trends at this stage.

If hospital admissions start to rise again I'll be more concerned and no sign of that.

Scotland data:

4 deaths - was 6 last week

414 cases - was 543 last week

2.0% positivity - was 2.4% last week

Unfortunately there will be no hospital data updates now until Tuesday.

Afaik only England will do so.

Scotland vaccinations

2, 515, 748 first doses given - 22, 421 today - was 30, 258 yesterday & 37, 121 last week

414, 540 second doses given - 15, 478 today - was 44, 306 yesterday & 16, 578 last week

Bit of a drop as you can see - being Easter / or the start of the April drop in doses available perhaps.
