I didn’t say we shouldn’t carry on being “vigilant” ,, What we are doing is clearly working, I just think we should be Comming our of lockdown quicker so people can get on with their lives.. I’m not talking about international travel either ..
If what we are doing is clearly working, why rush now. Take it steady and less risk of needing a backward step. An extra few weeks after 14 months of this isn’t too much extra hardship. I know the closer we get to normality the bigger the temptation to rush and take short cuts, but better to be gradual.

AZ and J&J are viral vectors - they use a harmless virus to deliver RNA into your cells.

Moderna (and Pfizer) use naked RNA delivered in a fatty envelope which directly delivers into your cells without a need for a virus to do it.

Neither use DNA.
I'm not quite sure the Adenovirus virus is totally harmless to deliver RNA to trigger our immune systems. Its starting to look like the AZ and JJ vaccines trigger an extremely rare known immune response to the Adenovirus that results in the CVST clots. Nothing confirmed yet but reports do seem to highlight this as a possibility.

2491 cases (up 19 on yesterday).

Was 2763 cases and 45 deaths last week.
I find this persistent low level of cases very reassuring, even if any minor hike from shops and outdoor pub comes a few weeks later.

The main thing, as you always remind us, is that serious illness and hospitalisation continue to reduce.

Someone will no doubt tell us that cases are on the rise on the news tonight though !

Fair point - none of these are completely harmless. "Inactivated" might be a better word.

Who knows how many other mistakes I made in a single paragraph!

Good day for North West - behind all of Yorkshire, London and South East after a small fall of 39 regionally.

But GM up (just by 4) with some boroughs having really excellent days and others less so.

Full details coming in a few minutes.

When do we think we should start to see / know the impact of April 12th? 2-3 weeks?

Do you know anything about DNA based developments like the Scancell Covidity vaccine? I’ve read about it online but it’s a bit complicated for me. Seems they can address variants by acting against a different part of the virion that doesn’t mutate. Do you know if there there are other companies doing similar research and who’s in the lead at the moment? I’m interested from an investment perspective.

No expertise in that whatever, sorry.
