Just done a job for a lady, probs early 80s, been going to her for years and shes usually a really outgoing woman.

not seen her for 2 years... total nervous wreck. What a shame. A side effect id imagine quite a few are suffering with.

only goes to tesco after midnight, wears 2 masks, a face screen, 2 gloves. ALL of which are sanitised before she puts them on. Goes tesco and ends up getting the wrong stuff as shes in total panic. Gets home and pretty much strips off at the side of the house before sanitising every product.
shes a widow, not seen her pals in person since jan 20, only sees her daughters etc in her garden.

she has just said she knows shes had some sort of breakdown but she has been frightened to death by the tv/papers

what a shame
Isn’t she vaccinated by now?

Zoe App data

A bit of a blip today. Though this is inevitable with data so low nowadays. Looks more significant than it is.

Unless it becomes a trend. And cases often rise in mid week then fall back over the weekend. For obvious reasons.

Predicted cases UP by 112 to 1009 - was 1157 last week.

Symptomatic cases has fallen however to 19, 132 (a lower daily fall than of late of 433 - was 25, 878 last week.

NW is mid table and showing some improvement.

Liverpool a little down but still the worst in the NW.

Greater Manchester significantly down with no marked boroughs now and falls in the ones that were as well as those that were already quite low.

At least she’s not in a care home. Any visit outside, even if vaccinated twice, with 2 masks and face visor as you describe above, would mean 2 weeks isolation in her room. So the people drawing up the guidelines accept that visiting is probably essential to the persons well being and might well form part of their care package, but also acknowledge that the requirement to self isolate will probably mean people don’t go out on a visit. Another example of existing and not living......

England hospital deaths have QUADRUPLED week to week today!

But do not panic too much - that is from 1 to 4 and just shows the danger of statistics at this low level.

The 4 were all from the past 3 days. And Sunday data so always low.

Not sure we can read anything into this at all .as day to day fluctuations are inevitable and look far worse than they are with such small numbers

3 were aged 60 - 79 and 1 over 80.

One each from East and London and 2 from Midlands.

0 from the other 3 regions including the NW. Though they often under report weekend data.

Four deaths were 1 each in Birmingham, Nottingham, East Suffolk and Epsom.

Whilst not significant in any worrying sense we do seem to have hit a plateau of sorts below which it is possible we are not going to go. After all only ZERO is lower than 1.

How much - if any - of this is down to easing lockdown restrictions time will tell.
