I think we should be pausing the vaccine roll out here and sending all supplies, save for second doses, to other countries to enable them to vaccinate their over 70’s, which will make a massive difference to them and not much difference to us.
What difference will a few million UK vaccine doses make globally? Our contribution is the licensing of the ultra cheap AZ vaccine at cost in perpetuity to low and medium income countries.

I’d like to think it would be a statement of who we are, as a nation. Perhaps I’m in a minority, but I’d hope not.

Really? How about that if we send a "few million" then we could save the lives of a "few million" elderly and vulnerable people in poorer countries who would other wise die? The under 44 year olds here who would otherwise get the jabs are unlikely to die.

We’ve pressured the states into making available to India their surplus stocks of the AZ / Oxford vaccine.

I agree for the under 40s. The logistics will already be set in motion for the 40 to 44 year olds.

Just done a job for a lady, probs early 80s, been going to her for years and shes usually a really outgoing woman.

not seen her for 2 years... total nervous wreck. What a shame. A side effect id imagine quite a few are suffering with.

only goes to tesco after midnight, wears 2 masks, a face screen, 2 gloves. ALL of which are sanitised before she puts them on. Goes tesco and ends up getting the wrong stuff as shes in total panic. Gets home and pretty much strips off at the side of the house before sanitising every product.
shes a widow, not seen her pals in person since jan 20, only sees her daughters etc in her garden.

she has just said she knows shes had some sort of breakdown but she has been frightened to death by the tv/papers

what a shame
