Off to see in laws this weekend. Walking around woods with us and the kids in the cold as we cannot celebrate a birthday properly atm. As we were in a call with them, they say " Oh we'll open up the conservatory and we can sit in there after". We've not had a jab, they see their other son and their family over that side. So we did the right thing and said we cannot come in your house. So difficult and this is the situation many families will have. My wife is 41 and is probably a week away from her jab, I'm 40 next weekend and will no doubt be able to book from then too. Just not worth the risk is it? Been doing this carefully for 14 months now and why throw it all away at the last minute.
Exactly the right choice. Why take a risk when yo are so close to getting the jab.

We are in the same position - three of us have had the first jab, but my youngest daughter probably won't have hers for another couple of months. We are limiting who we see and what we do until then. We've spent so long keeping away from people that it's no big deal to do it for another two or three months.

Seems to be a postcode lottery who is getting theirs at this point. As a 32 year old I'm paying close attention and have had no issue waiting my turn.

Wales offering everyone above 30 theirs from yesterday. Northern Ireland the same.

England only opening up to 40 year olds this morning?

But a colleague who is younger (a few months) got theirs yesterday as their GP is working through their patients quicker than mine evidently is.

Fully appreciate its a very selfish view point, just doesn't really sit right with me.

Wales data:

0 deaths - was 0 last week

36 cases - was 58 last week

Lowest Friday Welsh daily cases in 8 months.

Third day this week Wales has had this lowest in 8 months number on a day. All in the 30s.

0.3% positivity - was 0.4% last week

Note Wales has vaccinated the highest percentage of adult population in UK nations and is recording the lowest case numbers. Probably not unconnected.

Wales vaccination data:

Population of Wales is about 3.2 million.

1, 830. 964 first doses given - Approx 70% of over 16s- 14, 513 today - was 16, 023 yesterday & 14, 818 last wk

748, 700 second doses given - Approx 29% of over 16s - 16, 057 today - was 17, 218 yesterday & 17, 882 last wk

Cheers stoner. Just saying over here that we might be given a different vacc when it comes time to get the second.
Saying that we will have more data by then and we may not have any A.Z to give.
There is a study ongoing into this as the likelihood is those who had two doses of one vaccine and need a booster in the autumn (as all over 60s probably will) may then be given a different kind to their previous two on purpose.
