Yes. I think that would be better than re-imposing restrictions or delaying their lifting.
Of course, that's just a personal opinion.
What we would be trying to avoid is a further wave; second doses do little to prevent general transmission, but first doses make a massive difference.

Starting to feel anxious about the Indian variant and rising infections (I’m a school teacher in Bolton).
I’ve heard rumours about people going to local vaccination centres at the end of the day and being given the leftover vaccines.
Has anyone actually tried/accomplished this?
I’m 26 so can’t see myself getting the vaccine anytime soon and I wouldn’t want to jump the queue, but I’m hearing these vaccines are being thrown away if unused.

Can't be easy being a teacher through this, especially in Bolton at the moment. The leftover vaccine walk-in centres are definitely a thing. There was a popup one behind the Lidl in Longsight (sounds great doesn't it) recently and yesterday there was one at the Irish Centre in Cheetham Hill. Sadly there doesn't seem to be much in the way of a centralised place to get information on there. I found out about both via Manchester City Council's Twitter feed, just in time to miss out...

Even if there was a further wave of infections, why prolong any lifting of restrictions when just about all venerable have been vaccinated?
As for SAGE as well as we have done in this country with the roll out , I don’t think they are relevant anymore, sounds to me they are keeping themselves in a job .

Right move too. Good to see some urgency over the avoidable mess that is Bolton.
Such a shame that a football forum was more concerned about a rise in cases in Bolton 2 weeks ago whilst those in control were either unaware or letting it become much less stoppable. But then I thought that too in August when GM ended up in restrictions for months via Bolton - so not as if there was no precedent - and the BBC just now hinted GM may yet see a local lockdown soon.
I feel quite depressed and wonder if I could have done anything to warn people. But I just did not - still cannot - believe we saw it and those who could act did not.
But seeing the risk they took with the entire country just to retain good favour of a fed up public is very worrying.
I really hope this comes to nought and we can stem the tide.
But if we have to delay further unlocking we must. And people should complain to those whose fault it is.
You reap the reward if things go well (and this still might end up doing so) and you pay the price if you make the wrong move.
The jury is out but as I have pointed out a few days ago the young are the ones catching this in Bolton right now. So far most are not getting sick. But 10% of 1000 is the same as 50% of 200. That sum needs to be remembered as to where this might lead.
So I think this focus on the young in Bolton asap is probably now urgent.
And the delay getting there might have put other places at risk too which need urgent identification.

On what is often the biggest day of the week first time in months in single figures.
Last week was 21 with 1 - week before 13 with 2 and week before 22 with 3
The two from the NW both from Salford.
Other regions 3 East, (2 in East Suffolk), 2 NE & Yorkshire, 1 London, 1 Midlands - 0 in SE and SW.
4 of the deaths were aged 40 - 59 btw. (with 1 aged 60 - 79 and 4 aged 80 Plus)
