Is anyone aware if anything has been mentioned about vaccine supplies/progress lately? Not that it's bad or slow, it's just not really took off in the way I was maybe led to believe it would. I know we were meant to have a rough few weeks with some supply issues but that seems a long time ago now.

they’re asking 38-40 year olds to get jabbed now. Seems we’re getting down the years pretty quick.

SAGE meeting called tomorrow.

Yet again govt delay, this time to avoid Johnson's India trip being cancelled, puts us at risk.

Yet again, the delay was futile.

Yet again, the consequences might be far worse.

Groundhog day.

[On a more positive note, I'm still optimistic June won't be delayed. We'll see. But we should never have imported so many cases while we avoided putting India on red list for political reasons]
Many cases from India have come into the UK via Turkey due to cheating Covidiots. Why is that the fault of the Government?

Maybe it's just up here things are seemingly stalling a bit then. Got loads of family in late 40s and none of them have heard anything about a first dose yet.

Shouldn't Turkey have been on the red list much earlier too at the time when it was rapidly escalating over there?

the Indian variant was believed to be spreading in early April (in a minimal way) and there were known community transmissions (minimal) before April 23rd at the latest.

what came after re travel and Turkey and so on was avoidable but once it's in.....

I think that the SAGE meeting today is the right course of action, I would be more concerned if they weren't meeting to discuss this variant and what needs to be done to keep a handle on it.

Weren’t we all told to expect cases to go up, but because of vaccinations they shouldn’t translate into a meaningful increase in hospitalisations? This seems to be exactly what’s happening now. So what’s the problem?

Everything suggests the vaccines work fine against the Indian variant.

Most people around here ,in the Borders, in their 40s have got theirs, seem to be doingabout 40-42 this week.Just looked on travellingabby, say 59% of those in their 40s done.so lower 40 sounds about right.
