The daughter and boyfriend of an ex colleague of my wife have just had their first vaccine at a pop up centre in Horwich. She is 26!
Suspect that, even though they are sticking to the official line that the vaccine is only available to the over 38's that anyone over 18 in Bolton will be able to have the first jab.

Yeah I think the way we’ve let people in has been a joke, unfortunately I do think this new variant could well set us back a year
Set us back a year? Bearing in mind the entire pandemic here hadn’t been much longer than that. Explain how.

When I was on leave from the navy in the late seventies/early eighties I was out seven nights a week. I was lucky as I had mates on leave the same time as me so we never had to get up in the morning. I must admit some Monday and Tuesday's used to be a bit dead in the clubs but we had a laugh. Sunday's we used to go to that snooker club near the Ritz that was open all night.
Shut down that place i believe now. Another casualty of the government's commitment to hospitality.

Was it called the Grovenor? Great memories of my mate Quinny, sadly no longer here. We'd have a night in the Snooty Fox, catch the bus to town and stay in there until about 6-7 am. A couple of pints of coke and a pot noodle kept us going. Peaceful nice time

I guess they want to stop hospitalisations and deaths even if that means accepting rising cases.

But I agree I would protect everyone by getting cases down through vaccinating the ones who are catching it right now because they are unvaccinated.

Can only assume this is the guidance being given not a political decision.

Or maybe that was the reason for the press conference lengthy delay tonight as scientists tried to persuade Boris and the man from del monte said no. Something was obviously holding it up for over an hour.
Do we know that vaccines stop you catching it?

There may well have been a disagreement which delayed the presser, but I doubt it was over precise vax strategy, can't imagine Johnson knows or cares anything about that.

It could be that they advised against opening up next week though.

The inquiry delayed until after the next election will tell us in three years time.

Not sure what it was called mate, never went in myself, but it's on the route between my flat and The Salibsury which is where I drink so walked past it pretty often. Fairly sure last time I went past they had a note on saying it was permaclosed.
