Did he have any underlying issues? I take it he'd had the vaccine as well. My Uncle passed away yesterday, totally expected, had been so ill he couldn't attend my Auntie's (his wife) funeral a few weeks ago, however still upsetting but unlike your wife's grandad he didn't have a life to look forward to. We can handle most things in life but the death of a loved one is the most difficult thing to deal with, sorry for your loss.thanks guys. Unfortunately I can see the same thing happening to a lot of families soon
It resets with the most recent positive testOK team - I can't believe I'm having to ask this question but the guidence is so shite so here we go. I am isolating due to my partners son testing -ve on Saturday symptoms late Thursday, test Friday, result Saturday. My partner (double jabbed like myself) has tested +ve Sunday for symptoms on Sunday morning while I tested -ve. Does my isolation clock reset on Sunday after my partners +ve test. Or does it remain at the point of her sons test?
Please point to guidence.
I got my infection early warning on Saturday night (ye olde chicken pox scar in lung is uncomfortable - its a long story) but on Sunday when I was tested I was fine and I am fine today. It is pretty obvious that my immune system kicked in and wiped sny infection out.
The following advice seems to indicate I only have to isolate from Day 1 unless I get symptoms or a positive test.
Coronavirus (COVID-19): testing

Guidence proof please. The NHS guidence is pretty clear as to isolation being tied to the first person in the house, but it clashes with the guidence given to my partner that doesn't mention anything about people already isolating. It resets with the most recent positive test

Glad he didn't suffer too much, as I said the death of a loved one it's something we know will happen but when it does we are not equipped to handle it, condolences to your family, cheers.sorry for your loss too Hammocity
He was 93 so it was expected to come at some point. He had a few health issues starting to crop up due to his age, but he was absolutely fine when we last saw him 2 weeks ago. He went downhill so fast it’s sad to see, he was relying fully on the oxygen so the hospital allowed his wife and kids to visit one last time, which was nice. Kind of glad it happened sooner rather than later to avoid him suffering for any longer.
Yeah a fraction of the amount of deaths we’d normally have. People die everyday unfortunately, some from infectious diseases that are relatively harmless to the vast majority of the population (like COVID). Vaccines have worked, the link between infections and deaths is broke, it’s over. People who want this to continue are cult like in their demands and wishing for restrictions to continue. Does my head in. How many of them deaths were down solely to COVID? Very few I imagine.
