GM Weekly Pop Data after today:~

Borough / Pop Today / 7 days ago / up or down wk to wk/ Testing is % of local population who have tested positive for Covid over past year.

As ever with Pop going up is bad, going down good - the higher the number the better or worse depending on direction moving. The Pop is total cases in past week versus 100,000 POPulation to even out the comparison versus size and expected cases based on numbers living there.

Oldham 631 / 564 / UP 67 Testing positive 11.9%

Rochdale 595 / 493 / UP 102 Testing positive 11.8%

Trafford 553 / 455 / UP 98 Testing positive 9.1%

Wigan 548 / 520 / UP 28 Testing positive 11.2%

Salford 542 / 518 / UP 24 Testing positive 11.6%

Manchester 500 / 543 / DOWN 43 Testing positive 12.3%

Tameside 479 / / 415 / UP 64 Testing positive 9.9%

Stockport 402 / 354 / UP 48 Testing positive 8.9%

Bury 387 / 405 / DOWN 18 Testing positive 11.2%

Bolton 332 / 304 / UP 28 Testing positive 12.2%

Oldham way up top now.

With Rochdale second spot with its neighbour after some big case numbers of late.

Wigan, Salford and Trafford all up in the 500s now after some big recent numbers. With Trafford's awful rub taking it up to third. It is much more used to being down the other end of this table.

Manchester back there too - just - though falling wk to wk.

Pop Scores - remember - take population of the borough into account so Manchester being so big is expected to have far more cases than Rochdale or Oldham which is why their numbers are lower in total but much worse in reality

Bury pulling clear of Stockport who crashed into the 400s, Cannot recall the last time Stockport was over 400. If ever.

Stockport did gain another 15 on its overall Pop Score to now be 191 ahead of Trafford - about the margin they were in the reverse positions a month ago before Trafford spiked.

Stockport up 59 now on 8910 but Trafford up by 74 - to reach 9101.

Stockport as the sole occupant of the 8000 club. Though only for a couple of days.

Bolton up 40 to 12, 208. The lowest Pop Score rise today ahead of Bury.

Oldham up by 76 to 11, 924.

Manchester up 60 - now on 12, 272 .

Rochdale up 78 - most today - now on 11, 831.

Salford rose by 74 to 11, 571.

Bury up 47 to 11, 219 Next best today behind Bolton.

Wigan up by 67 to 11, 213.

So just Stockport now in the VERY UPPER 8000s - and Trafford and Tameside a rung above in the 9K club with Tameside up 58 - up to 9935. May make the 10 K club tomorrow, if not it will be Tuesday,

Stockport will not be sole occupant of the 8 K club for long but is a bad day away from reaching the 9K club too. Or two OK days.

Total cases 1770 - DOWN 255 on Yesterday - from NW FALL of 527

A bit over the expected par (42%) of 227.

Wk to wk UP 44 when the NW ROSE by 242 - a much smaller increase than par rise (42%) of 102.

Both numbers better for GM than rest of NW so very good day.

BOLTON 114 / DOWN 36 / DOWN 3

BURY 89 / DOWN 39/ DOWN 7

MANCHESTER 329 / DOWN 106 / DOWN 65

Bury down under 100 and surging forward well clear of Stockport and chasing Bolton now for best in GM.

Tameside and Trafford up day to day and week to week. Stockport not so good again either and almost joined them but still extended by another 15 their lead over Trafford for best overall Pop Score.

Generally a pretty good day in GM.
Bury still a bit up and down at the moment, if they post 3 or 4 days under a hundred then it will begin to look a lot better.

Are the % just eligible adults or total population?

26 all settings deaths - that is 25 in England too - well up on last week's 15.

31, 772 cases - a little down on yesterday. As in by 595.

England actually down 1311 to 28, 421.
Still 97 less then the average daily toll (113) in an average flu season Jan-Mar

Are the % just eligible adults or total population?
It is the % of adults aged 18 and over is how I interptret what Gov UK say:-

QUOTE

Total percentage of people aged 18 and over who have received a COVID-19 vaccination, shown by date reported. Daily figures include all vaccines that were given up to and including the date shown, and that were entered on the relevant system at the time of extract. Percentages lower than 0.1 will not appear.

Unfortunately my wife’s grandad has just passed away this evening from this horrible virus. Huge hope at the start of the week as he was getting better, then a sudden drop to very low oxygen levels in the past couple of days

So heartbreaking as they had been locked up for nearly 18 months, and went out for the first time the other weekend to celebrate his birthday and picked it up from there.

That must be heartbreaking for all of you; thoughts and prayers with you and yours.
