Happened to us last week. She needs to isolate, and advised to get a test. You don’t unless she develops symptoms. You should get a letter from school with all the timings/isolation rules and advice on.
Be no harm to do the lateral flow tests at home in the mean time.
I was isolating as family members had tested positive , regular testing at home throughout all negative . Thought I must be superman.
On the final day, positive ffs!
Still in Cell Block H for another week!

26 all settings deaths - that is 25 in England too - well up on last week's 15.

31, 772 cases - a little down on yesterday. As in by 595.

England actually down 1311 to 28, 421.

Most England regions down today but the numbers are very noticeably squeezing together,

NW fell today by 527 and though still the highest the NE is only 511 behind now on a new high there of 3720, Gigantic for a region that was under 100 cases a day in June,

The NE actually has more cases than the larger Yorkshire region which itself is only 700 or so behind the NW.

So the combined two regions - which Zoe treats them as in their data - has today almost double the North West numbers.

As the hospital data last week was showing (they also combine NE and Yorkshire as one region - probably why Zoe do this) this is where the rise in cases is coming from as NW - like Scotland - does seem to have reached its upper limit,

London and the South East are two other regions just a few hundred behind the NW now whereas a couple of weeks ago NW was double most of them.

Looks clear now the focal point of Delta has shifted,

Your “mate” would have to be a bit of a dick to throw your name in.

I‘m only talking on a personal note, but having had to isolate for 10 days due to my kids having covid, and me still negative so obviously I’m currently immune, and the vaccine has done its job, so if anyone thinks I’m isolating again between now and mid Aug then they are fucking dreaming, hence my app is now off.
The vaccine doesn’t offer immunity though, it’s purpose is to lessen effects in the hope of not overwhelming the NHS and by that I mean not filling so many beds that regular procedures can still continue.

What you are is lucky, there seems to be no rhyme or reason why some people get it and others do not. It’s just pot luck

As for Greater Manchester today - the pattern of recent days continues,

An OK day - slow progress - nothing dramatic.

And the most obvious thing Bolton and Bury - the two boroughs into Delta first - are clearly now on their own the two best in GM. They have a way to go still but they are clearly ahead of the other eight.

Giving hope the other 8 cannot be too far behind on that track.

GM numbers today fell by 255 to 1770 - from that NW fall of 527 - this is almost exactly half and just a tad up on the average but pretty much as we have been seeing.

That from last week is up just 44 whilst the NW week to week rise is 242.

This means GM rose week to week by well under the 121 expected at 50%

And by lower than the week to week % NW has been running at this past few days.

So GM still appears on track to be coming out of the Delta wave - or at least flattening off within it - more than other parts of the region are as yet,

But as I noted above the other regions are very visibly closer to the numbers posted by the NW region and NE & Yorkshire is now much higher and so as a region - just like Scotland - NW seems to be plateauing or even falling.

We will see if that continues but for now it looks quite hopeful.

It does offer some immunity, sure reports are a relatively high percentage, just isn’t guaranteed. I now know 3 double jabbed families that have isolated because their 18/20 year olds have tested positive, Non of the parents in the same house have tested positive.

Cases across the regions:

Change in last 24 hrs V seven days ago

SOUTH

East DOWN 289 to 2017 V 1451

London DOWN 462 to 3669 V 2218 - just over 500 behind the NW now

South East UP 20 to 3380 V 2432 - only one of two places to go up today

South West DOWN 149 to 2125 V 1487

MIDLANDS

East DOWN 133 to 2286 V 1338

West DOWN 346 to 2870 V 2188

Some good falls here

NORTH

North East UP 808 to 3720 V 2298 - a really big jump here day to day and week to week - just 500 behind NW seems hard t0 credit for this small area -

Six weeks ago it was on just 94

Yorkshire DOWN 44 to 3515 V 2557 - the combined total of these two regions is well over 7000 - which is higher than any number the NW has ever posted during the Delta wave.

AND

NORTH WEST DOWN 527 to 4231 V 3989 - Still the highest region but only a few hundred ahead of most of the rest when a month ago it was thousands ahead of each one.

Past weeks NW numbers are 3989 - 3945 - 3960 - 4950 - 5203 - 6487 - 4758 - 4231

Equivalent NW numbers a week earlier 2763 - 4168 - 3870 - 4856 - 4366 - 5033 - 3997 - 3989

GM numbers in past week 1726 - 1678 - 1605 - 2031- 2224 - 2717 - 2025 - 1770

Total in GM from the NW cases Total - 41.8% - Down from 42.6% yesterday and from 43.0% a week ago,

Tracking clearly in the right direction,

It was up at 75% when Bolton spiked in May and GM was responsible for much of the rising numbers,

Now the reverse is true.

Full GM details

Total cases 1770 - DOWN 255 on Yesterday - from NW FALL of 527

A bit over the expected par (42%) of 227.

Wk to wk UP 44 when the NW ROSE by 242 - a much smaller increase than par rise (42%) of 102.

Both numbers better for GM than rest of NW so very good day.

BOROUGH / CASES TODAY / V YESTERDAY / V LAST WEEK

BOLTON 114 / DOWN 36 / DOWN 3

BURY 89 / DOWN 39/ DOWN 7

MANCHESTER 329 / DOWN 106 / DOWN 65

OLDHAM 181 / DOWN 15 / DOWN 9

ROCHDALE 174 / DOWN 29 / UP 21

SALFORD 190 / DOWN 21 / UP 17

STOCKPORT 172 / DOWN 3 / UP 21

TAMESIDE 131 / UP 10 / UP 22

TRAFFORD 174 / UP 13 / UP 47

WIGAN 216 / DOWN 29 / LEVEL

Bury down under 100 and surging forward well clear of Stockport and chasing Bolton now for best in GM.

Tameside and Trafford up day to day and week to week. Stockport not so good again either and almost joined them but still extended by another 15 their lead over Trafford for best overall Pop Score.

Generally a pretty good day in GM.

Greater Manchester

Weekly total cases:-

Bury 740, Bolton 956 , Tameside 1086 , Stockport 1177, Trafford 1311, Rochdale 1323, Salford 1403, Oldham 1487, Wigan 1803, Manchester 2764

Bury and Bolton now only the only boroughs under four figures and pulling clear of the rest.

He means 192 covid related deaths, not 192 deaths in total. That rate equates to 8x the number of road traffic deaths per week. But we still have seat belts and no drink driving and stop signs and crash tests.
I know what he mean’t but thanks for assuming i’m thick…. small fraction of the amount of people who die per day, and the vast majority of those deaths weren’t caused by COVID, they just had it when they died. Cars and seatbelts is a poor and tired analogy too.
