News tonight that UK vaccine take up will plateau at 90% of the adult population. So the Government is again considering the introduction of Covid passports to be enforced for foreign holidays, sports events, nightclubs and other indoor entertainment.
90% is bloody good actually. France and Greece are implementing such policies to get their poor vaccine uptake numbers higher than the 65-75% predicted.

We have had to go into isolation for 10 days, as my partner's 19 year old has tested positive today, even though he has no symptoms.

They were due to go to Ibiza today and the kids had to get PCR tests as they have only had one jab so far. His came back positive so they can't go away and we are all stuck in the house now.

My kids who live with their mum are in isolation too as their step dad has it.

Look at Spain on worldometer.
Looks to be a band from the north east of Portugal to Barcelona. Valencia also not looking to clever.

Province of Burgos absolutely hammered. 1 in 100 residents tested positive past 14 days.

That's Valladolid / Salamanca... dunno why it should break out there.

Oops. Malaga breaking bad too.

The urgency to spread the vaccine needs to rapidly increase, as does the rate of vaccination, so that even those who may get infected do not have the devastating outcomes of the early breakout of the initial variant.

The comments out of NZ, while sounding somewhat dramatic and alarmist, have a ring of truth to them.

The desire to open has to be weighed against the society’s need to protect itself and its social services. In England’s case, Boris appears to have fumbled, dropped and now deflated the ball in a series of missteps.

Good luck to all y’all (as they say down South!)
