and what if hospitals/ICU units reach full capacity say in 4-5 weeks when cases are topping 100,000 ? Just ‘crack on’ ?
You can't lockdown forever though can you?
I personally think we will have to do it again but sooner or later the appetite for them will lose public confidence.

Cases across the regions:

Change in last 24 hrs V seven days ago

SOUTH

East DOWN 679 to 3829 V 2017

London DOWN 1141 to 5491 V 3669

South East DOWN 689 to 5657 V 3380

South West UP 222 to 4925 V 2125~~

The south falls a lot apart from the SW beaches. Though it will be the bars after the beaches really,

MIDLANDS

East DOWN 307 to 4019 V 2286

West DOWN 870 to 4612 V 2870 - more big falls but big rises wk to wk rises here too

COMBINING THESE TWO INTO ONE AS THE NHS DOES TOTALS THE SECOND HIGHEST REGONAL NUMBERS - 8631.

NORTH

North East DOWN 565 to 3889 V 3726

Yorkshire DOWN 1481 to 4964 V 3515 Huge fall here.

NE & YORKSHIRE as Zoe and the NHS combines these two for the hospital data and this is still now the biggest area with 8853 cases - but the lead over over where the North West has reached is much reduced today.

AND

NORTH WEST DOWN 462 to 6962 V 4231

A slightly disappointing drop today.

Past weeks NW numbers are 4231 - 4769 - 4931 - 6203 - 6212 - 7256 - 7424 - 6962

Equivalent NW numbers a week earlier 3989 - 3945 - 3960 - 4950 - 5203 - 6487 - 4758 - 4231

GM numbers in past week 1770 - 2043 - 2034 - 2483 - 2715 - 2968 - 3088 - 2972

Total in GM from the NW cases Total - 42.7% - Up from 41.6% yesterday and 41.8.% a week ago.

A little worse today for GM within the NW

Then abide by whatever rules are put in place then. Are you not ‘cracking on‘ then in the meantime?

Currently around 4,000 in hospital in the UK with COVID compared to 40,000 with similar case numbers back in Jan. Vaccines clearly keeping numbers much lower along with mainly unvaccinated being those admitted. Not much we can do about those is there?

You wouldn't mind people drink driving when you are out on the road then as you have a seat belt that works?
I struggle to see how those 2 things correlate. If the vaccine works someone without the jab through their own choice is not putting other people at risk like the idiot who drink drives. Having the jab doesn’t seem to stop it spreading either.

I didnt say that bud. Somehow youve attributed someone else's post to me.

Having the jab does help reduce (but not eliminate) transmission. Lots of studies back this up. So having the jab reduces the spread and thus potential impact on others.
