Coronavirus (2021) thread

Bored is the word of the day. I thought I’d be feeling better by the day but it’s just a plateau of not feeling quite right. I’m fine generally, it’s hard to explain, just sinuses still dry, no taste or smell, hearing not quite right. I might try some exercise later and get a sweat on, see if that helps.
Gentle exercise only, your body may not handle full blown stress. Same as pneumonia, take it very slowly, I posted a while ago where a lad at my friend's company went for a jog after having a virus (not Covid) for a few weeks, he collapsed and died in front of his colleagues, the Doctor had warned him not to go back to his strenuous regime, take it easy pal.

People whining about their "human rights" objecting to vaccine passports need to open their eyes to what real human rights violations are.

Last time I checked, throwing people off buildings because they're gay, or having child soldiers, or gassing your own people wasn't a thing in the UK.

Grow the fuck up you thick twats. The fact we've *EVEN GOT VACCINES AT ALL* puts you in the 1%, let alone whining about needed to show a covid pass on your smartphone while going to a pub, football match or gig.

There's people without drinking water, food, and being blown to pieces on this planet.

"Human rights". Give it a rest. What an insult.
Bang on the money

This isn't true.

I got my first jab 6 weeks ago and can't get my second until mid-August (nearly 11 weeks later) because the vaccine centres are completely overwhelmed with people getting vaccinated.
Depends where you live. Some areas are doing walk ins for anyone at 8 weeks and there aren't massive queues. My son had his second in Tameside while visiting from London.

Certainly won't.
Vit C and Zinc while you are ill, Echidna too.
Lay off the Zinc if a Cytokine storm kicks in.
Night Nurse. By the bottle load, the old stuff too - the stuff you shouldn't take if operating machinery, none of the non-drowsy shite. Sleep like a king, and sleep is the best medicine of all.

SCOTLAND DATA:

CURATES EGG TODAY

13 deaths - was 4 last week - most in ages and the legacy of the big case numbers in past weeks sadly

But 1604 cases - was 2529 last week - another fall and even bigger wk to wk than yesterday

9.2% positivity - was 11.5% last week - more good news.

529 Patients - down 7 on yesterday - was 506 last week - the improvement here continues

47 ventilated - up 2 on yesterday - was 41 last week

MUCH AS IN NORTH WEST AND DESPITE OUR NEED FOR CAUTION OVER THE MEANING THESE NUMBERS CONTINUE TO LOOK HOPEFUL

If they (vaccination certificates for night clubs) are necessary they should be in place now, if they are not necessary they shouldn't be in place ever.
Clearly to rapidly give immunity to those in the younger age groups while the weather is good and to minimise deaths in the unvaccinated older cohorts. You're about 3 times more likely to survive severe bronchial infection in the summer than the winter.
The government isn't telling the nation the real reason for why they're so keen to open up.
That's the opinion of my Covidologist (aka Care of the Elderly) Consultant daughter anyway.
