Coronavirus (2021) thread

Caught on youtube Tuesday a debate on ITV news, it was about the return of freedoms, but the presenter did say 60% of hospitalized COVID patients did not have the vaccine, so that means 40% had the jab but still had COVID, it did not say whether they caught COVID in hospital, so not sure it is accurate enough to make an opinion.
The average number is supposidly 60% but we haven't got a clue about age differences and differences in areas with low vaccine take-up.
The NHS knows the figures but won't publish them for some reason.

Nah. Super- exponentially if anything.
It's gone dimensional! A black hole of cases!

I think I have to back out of worrying about COVID. Woken up finding it difficult to get my breath a bunch of times recently but my PCR was negative. What the fuck am I going to do?

Regarding COVID being caught in Hospitals. We took the nightingales down didn't we? But separating cases from the general hospital population looks like such an obvious win. FFS.

This is like complaining you've got a Ford and would rather have a Jag when the alternative is walking: if it wasn't for AZ we'd only have half as many people vaccinated at all in the UK.

Those AZ figures are against a variant that didn't even exist when the vaccine was developed, are really very, very good and way better than thought possible at the start.

Only about a quarter of the world are vaccinated, and a major slice of those with Chinese or Russian vaccines whose results aren't even public.

Short version: get a fucking grip FFS.

[I have AZ too]
Yeah when you put it that way but Pfizer does seem much more effective, less side affects and much less risk of blood clots and serious illness. I ended up in hospital after both jabs of AZ which was far from ideal

Shows how shit AZ is compared to Pfizer.
Pissed off I had to take AZ!
Don’t know about “shit”. Flu jabs only have around 40-60% effectiveness depending on the jab and the year and the individual, and they’re considered good.

AstraZeneca was excellent on combating the alpha variant. It was it up at 90% as opposed to 60% or so with Delta (it’s still up at 95% from risk of severe disease and death).

I’m sure they will develop a further jab(s) for new variants as they come along, much like Pfizer would have to if a variant comes that doesn’t combat as well as others.

Yes "shit" was absolutely wrong choice of word
