NORTHERN IRELAND WEEKLY CASES BY AGE RANGE

0 - 19 (2534) 27.4%

20 - 39 (4111) 44.5%

40 - 59 (1818) 19.7%

60 - 79 (645) 7.0%

80 PLUS (132) 1.4%

The over 80s are up from 0.3% to nearly 5 times that in the weeks those care home numbers escalated.

The over 60s has more than doubled in the same period.

Still happily small in pure numbers but the link to escalating care home outbreaks I suspect is very real.

And the rising number on ventilators and doubling of hospital patients in a week is real.

These measures are the last to change as I keep reminding but we need to know why care homes are creating issues as these are building in deaths in coming weeks even if case numbers start to fall here too as todays numbers suggest.

Who is passing the virus to these vulnerable people? Surely we need to know because it will be happening everywhere.

So total deaths today with out of hospital England to add is:- 7

Last week it was 15 - it stayed at 15 last Monday as out of hospital registrations are very limited on a Monday as they come from Sunday too.

Will we see a surprise single figure death number today and a week to week fall?

Total three nation cases with England to add is 2769.

Last week it was 5293

Halved week to week.

England last Monday added 34, 657 cases to total 39, 950,

Yesterday England added 25, 434 cases to the 3 nations total of 3739 to total 29, 173

6% of the over 80s aren’t vaccinated nationally as I assume many of them have serious pre-existing conditions that prevent them from doing so. Add to that unvaccinated care home staff and maybe now family visits and it’s not hard to imagine that this very vulnerable group will have hospitalsations and sadly deaths.

It’s hard to imagine what more can be done as many of this group will also have life limiting conditions.

You need some time off pal. Virtually every post of yours in this thread has been some variation of "we're fucked."
I'd have loved to replied, yes it's over its finished. Just feel it's got a way to run yet. I hope I'm wrong pal

I wonder if new cases are dropping because people are taking lateral flow tests at home but not reporting them as symptoms are relatively mild and people are just carrying on working from home as normal...
