Science deniers?
unfortunately a very real thing. One of the main kicking off point I’ve seen for the conspiracy lot is to discount current scientific consensus due to things like Einstein’s theory of relativity only being a theory etc etc. Once you get that into people’s heads it opens the door for the “nothing is ever proven” step and into the “scientists can’t be trusted” into the “specialists/experts” views have the same validity as ‘my’ view after a 10 min google.

that then opens up the whole world of crack pot theory’s as all theories are a valid as another. I have seen so many comment with comments like “who’s version of the truth is that? Why is that any more valid than my version of the truth”

sigh

I see 1/2 the people who caught Covid have done so while in hospital for somthing else. So much for the "Wonderful" NHS.
Infection control is just bloody awful and has been for decades.
TBH they have been up shit creek with this,i was in at xmas got my own room the lot because i was a negative patient,in for 5 days and never caught it, i was banking my money on catching it,when i was being taken the the operating theatre the guy taking me said the place was crawling with it, i cant fault them really but my neighbour can when they amputated the wrong leg

Yep. I’ve posted it on here before, but last year my aunt (mid 70s) went in for a heart operation, caught covid in there and never came out.

Forgive me if I’m not banging my pots and pans every Thursday night.

For a wealthy nation and the amount of taxes we pay our hospitals are crumbling disease riddled shitholes. The NHS needs a top to bottom restructuring but no politician is brave enough to go near the issue with a barge pole.

3 older relatives have gone into Tameside Hospital over the years, caught somthing and have died.
Ward and corridor ventilation is crap. Time was when you could open big sash windows and airbourne viruses and bacteria would be grounded.
Wards need to be spotless. Cleaners and Catering staff need to mask up and use sanitizer (permanently).
Door fittings and taps should be copper or brass to kill bugs in minutes.
The list of reasons for the problem is endless.

Interesting article in the Telegraph detailing how over half the people hospitalised with Covid were actually admitted for other ailments and they only tested positive when in.

Makes the daily covid hospital numbers a bit of a joke doesn’t it. This will also have a knock on effect with deaths, people going in and passing away with covid that they caught in there, which was nothing to do with why they died.

Can't read the article but is it likely that many admitted are automatically tested after admission rather than before ?
