Noticed a big bucket of single use masks 'sponsored by The Sun' inside the entrance of the local Morrisons today. I was totally unable to figure out if it was for dumping your old old ones for recycling or taking a new one.

It sounds like a cyclical problem - you're symptoms are making cardio more difficult, so you become less fit and probably gain weight, which makes cardio even more difficult.

Just try and bite the bullet. Do as much running as you can, then try and beat it next time. Try a couch to 5k program?

This is a definate no no with long Covid.
You need to take yourself the edge of the problem then stop and rest.
Going beyond results in inflamation and makes it even harder to get yourself fit in a reasonable time frame.
See your doctor about this problem.

If my experience - and I'm not even diagnosed - is anything to go by, there are days when you can go further, days when almost a anything will risk that inflammation starting. I've had problems with inflammation many years now, so I'm quite sensitive to feeling it happen in action.

Before COVID, I could always push my muscles and aerobic system. Now, I know right away when it's not on to do any more. It's a very different situation. I had resumed exercising at the beginning of the pandemic but had to stop.

It just flares up from shoulders to head, there's a feeling about it that I can recognise, not quite healthy. Like that emotional feeling, people describe as my blood is boiling. But you're not angry, you're just trying to do a little exercise. It comes very quickly. A couple of seconds. Then you have to stop. Or you will be in more trouble for quite some time. The trouble doesn't always emerge for a day or two - and there's no end of ways it can affect you.

Please, do be very careful.
Thanks all.
What are you meaning by immflamation (as in symptoms)?

I’ve got this weird butterflies in stomach feeling constantly and a cough that never really left since covid.
Lethargy & out of breath. The heart palpi & racing on anything mildly approaching cardio is why I’m not pushing it.
I’ve done two runs a couple of months back (not long after I felt better enough to do so).
Struggled with breath but when the heart started racing uncomfortably, I stopped.
Happened when playing light tennis with the kids & had to stop.
Know a few runners who experienced the same

Last time I did cardio, but strength is definitely returning in the gym.

Right about the cyclical thing though. Running shedded tons of weight & added with gym work I was in the best shape of my life (mentally too).
But I feel like a silver back gorilla atm.

Good job I’m not dating atm for many reasons.

That latent virus story around long covid (read something yesterday) is intriguing.

In the last week two people I know well from going to Tenerife have died from covid related deaths, both Dutch. One owned a bar there and the lady who died lived there and was a regular in that bar. The lady died from a heart attack brought on by covid, she was 57 and the man died of covid, he was of a similar age. The news on him is vague as I only heard tonight from friends who are out there now. A big loss, I'll miss them the next time I get out there. Just a reminder if anyone needs one this fucker is still out there and killing people.

Wales data

0 deaths - was 4 last week

803 cases - was 824 last week

5.1% positivity - was 5.4% last week

133 patients - was 144 last week

22 ventilated - was 19 last week

ANOTHER PLACE FLATLINING IT WOULD SEEM
