About 80% of all Covid hospital patients in Northern Ireland under the age of 60 have NOT had the vaccine.

For those still wondering if it matters

Professor Ian Young is using this data to push the younger ages to get vaccinated showing them they CAN and DO end up in hospital if they do not.

NI Has the lowest of all UK vaccination rates and its hospital numbers are going up.

Those on ventilators have risen from 1 to 34 in three weeks.

So they are trying to get this message across that young does not mean invulnerable.
Its 80% in the West Midlands according to my daughter. Goodness knows why the Government isn't shouting this from the rooftops.
My guess is infection is a quicker route to herd immunity than vaccination. Also anti vaxers won't care a jot if there is such evidence.

ONS data on Wales is being used to also push the get vaccinated agenda as numbers are dropping everywhere as you can see from the day to posts on them in here. We seem to get to a new low now every few days. So no surprise a new campaign is afoot.

In the First Wave last Mar/April - across its two months 2100 died in Wales.

In the Second Wave across 3 or 4 months November to February 4800 died in Wales.

Since then the vaccinations have occurred and in the Third Wave over the past 2 months only 51 have died in Wales,

The ONLY reason for that huge drop is the vaccinations.

Another telling ONS stat in their messaging is that there were 29 separate days during the Winter Wave when there were MORE deaths on them in Wales than the entire number that have died in the past two months of this Delta wave.

Again the reason why is obvious. Hence why they are pressing this home trying to get as many of the holdouts against vaccination as they can.

No, we paid for one with chronomics and took it with us. Got discount with BA. It was £22.40 and we have just done it in the apartment. Result in 15 mins, you register it on their website (taking pic of the result) and then download certificate for flight home.
Can I just ask please what your experience was with Chronomics? - i've ordered a rapid antigen test & 2 x tests for when I get home from Gran Canaria in October.
I have booked with TUI & got a discounted testing package with Chronomics. I keep hearing mixed reviews about them. I have already booked it and been given a passenger locator no.
The bit that is concerning me is what happens if you do the test wrong whilst away or mess it up, can you get a test done locally in Spain / Canaries before you head back?
Also if I got it done by another provider over there can you still use the same passenger locator no that Chronomics have given me?
Thanks!

ZOE APP DATA

Sadly clear signs here too of a change in direction to UP in the UK data as we expected.

Predicted cases UP for fourth successive day after 10 days of falls:-

ON 45 016 UP FROM 43 177 - UP FROM 42 407 & 42 138 PAST THREE DAYS Seems to be rising faster daily too.

Ongoing symptomatic cases still falling - BUT - these will lag behind the daily cases by a week or so.

Again the rate of fall each day is now clearly slowing and may soon reverse.

ON 675 13 DOWN FROM 680 244 - DAY BEFORE DOWN FROM 690 506 - fall of 10 262

Two days ago was down 13, 804 and three days ago down 18 159

Unless the rise in cases reverses again this number will start rise later this week.

They’ve been fine so far. Only used them for the return to UK LFT one so can’t comment on the others. It’s fairly hard to mess it up but if you did it’s easy to book one in the Canaries. Just found this easier to do in your hotel, results in 15 mins.
You only need the passenger locator form number for the day 2 test (for the UK passenger locator form) so no issue on using another provider if you mess up the one in Spain.

OK thanks for clarifying mate.

ZOE APP REGIONS:

Yorkshire still top and rising - UP TO 783 / 1099 FROM 740 / 1042

Northern Ireland 2nd - BT FALLS TO 376 / 1448 FROM 408 / 1502

London next - UP TO 794 1010 FROM 743 / 946

North East - UP TO 691 / 1146 FROM 631 / 1066

THESE ARE THE TOP RED WATCH ZONES - THE NEXT GROUP ARE IN THE LOWER WATCH ZONE

Headed by

North West - DOWN AGAIN BUT SLOWING AT 576 / 817 FROM 579 / 818

THE ONLY ENGLAND REGION IN THE TOP 5 FALLING BUT ONLY JUST

The only two regions in the lowest watch zone are:-

WALES - DOWN TO 321 / 611 FROM 327 / 616

And the best - FOR NOW - but still rising as it has been for a few days after weeks of falls.

SCOTLAND DOWN TO 190 / 395 FROM 200 / 408

So UK wide hard to call but supporting a slight uptick in numbers only as yet.

Which way it turns next will be crucial.

I was looking at buying a couple of tests from these. No issues then mate?
I've used these for my recent holidays. Test on the way out and test to come home were fine (they were actually very good compared to others I've used). The day 2 test arrived on day 3 and the day 8 test arrived on day 9 though, which is very annoying.

The tests are really good from Chronomics. They're very high quality tests. In Gran Canaria, you'll probably be able to find an alternative quite easily, but I'd ensure you have your TUI rep on hand if there are any problems.

Only issue for me was the day 2 and day 8 tests coming on day 3 and 9 - which I think must be a supply issue that you'd assume wouldn't be as bad in October?
