ZOE APP NORTH WEST DATA

GREATER MANCHESTER

BOLTON UP AGAIN TO 12 786 FROM 12 398- bit of a slowdown from recent rises

BURY STILL INCHING DOWN TO 19 108 FROM 19 346 - Now easily the top in GM and in real data top of the GM scores too has climbed to the highest Pop Score in past week.

MANCHESTER DOWN TO 14 240 FROM 15 675 flattened off now falling here but still high

OLDHAM DOWN TO 4736 FROM 5358 - been falling in recent days and now best in GM

ROCHDALE DOWN TO 15 060 FROM 18 898 - promising fall

SALFORD UP TO 15 790 FROM 14 172 - scoring high derspite its POP SCORE fallen due to population change.

STOCKPORT DOWN TO 7783 FROM 9828 - a hopeful fall which the real life cases will hopefully match

TAMESIDE DOWN TO 7651 FROM 9533 - neighbour borough with Stockport and they often mirror one another in numbers as you can see!

TRAFFORD DOWN TO 10, 715 FROM 12 672 - been around 12/14K for a while and this may be a sign f falling here into the sub 10K lower watch zone too

WIGAN DOWN TO 8148 FROM 8724 - fallen fast in past week from very big heights and now has best POP score in GM ahead of Bolton - so fits with Zoe too.

Others:

CHESHIRE EAST -like Tameside often tracks neighbour Stockport but doing a little better than them both right now though all fairly close - is up slightly to 6074 FROM 5648.

LIVERPOOL - flattened around almost exactly the same place as Manchester 14/15K - But DOWN TO 12 515 FROM 14 498 today

WIRRAL - is higher but also falling - today to 18 044 FROM 20 397 Still one of the highest in the NW now.
Wirral was where the cruise ship patients were taken in Feb 2020 in the very early days of the pandemic,

FYLDE & WYRE (The Blackpool holiday coast) is showing big case numbers - around the highest in the North West - due to presumably packed beaches and bars post the end of restrictions.

The Blackpool area has one of the highest Pop Scores in the UK. Above all of GM. Cases are 20,443 at present

The tests are really good from Chronomics. They're very high quality tests. In Gran Canaria, you'll probably be able to find an alternative quite easily, but I'd ensure you have your TUI rep on hand if there are any problems.

Only issue for me was the day 2 and day 8 tests coming on day 3 and 9 - which I think must be a supply issue that you'd assume wouldn't be as bad in October?
Thank you Sir

Fascinating chat between scientists on why Covid herd immunity is not possible. And if vaccinating children is even worth it.

Pretty doomy if you want Covid done with. As the suggestion is people will still be in hospital seriously ill with Covid years from now if they are imuno compromised and that the next variant will likely evade the vaccines even more. But that does not matter as much as it sounds.

Every person who has not been vaccinated WILL catch Covid in the next year or so is another take.

It is then between them and their immune system how they ride it out. Or - if they are unlucky - do not.

But ultimately every citizen has to get some immunity and if they chose not to do that via the vaccines they will have to do it by taking their chances after catching it. As the unvaccinated will do - whatever they believe - because Covid will become inescapable to those with no natural or acquired immunity.

Think I followed that argument correctly.

152 ENGLAND HOSPITAL DEATHS

152 with 25 NW - was 147 with 26 last week & 117 with 22 NW week before

Only slightly up week to week the very good news.

This was always going to be the biggest day due to the usual Tuesday weekend catch up from lack of registration offices on Sunday but sad it is this high.

Let us hope we are near the peak of this. As deaths will always be the last number to go down unfortunately.

SCOTLAND DATA

11 deaths - was 9 last week

1032 cases - was 1016 last week & 1044 the week before that - aka plateau.

7.8% positivity - was 8.1% last week - so this has fallen happily

352 patients - down 4 on yesterday - was 406 last week

40 ventilated icu - down 2 on yesterday - was 61 last week

Hospital numbers still inching down is good to see.

Unfortunately not.

Needs to be a paid for test; either one purchased here and taken with you or bought locally over there in France.
Assuming you're not going anywhere too far off grid then I'd say just to arrange it over there at a local pharmacy or similar.

The money that’s being made from this is a scandal. Absolute piss take.

Biontech COO

“We believe that the best approach at the moment to deal with the situation is to continue with a booster dose with the existing wild-type strain”.

Hmm. I am sure their 3rd jabs will boost immunity but I am also pretty sure that 6 months later we'll need a 4th jab! This needs checking.
