some of you need to log off and start living your life

I do love it when people log on to forums to tell other people to log on less.

Not aimed at you, but there is an undercurrent to posts complaining of the content here along the lines of "I just want it to go away, stop reminding me". Which is understandable but won't help us get through this.

I have not posted on here for a while I am a lurker these days it’s just turned into a depressing place . I looked this morning to see take on the news we all knew ages ago that boosters would be needed you would think it was new news, we knew this would happen , it isn’t a shock. It was all expected and predicted.

nobody thinks it’s going to go away but people have forgotten how to enjoy their life. At the moment society is open so people may as well try and enjoy it sensibly , don’t go out licking door handles and snogging strangers , but looking at some of the recent posts on here it would seem people have forgotten that And are enjoying the doom and predicting far more doom and gloom to come.

anyway I will log out again as am going for a nice walk and meeting a pal to watch the cricket.

I agree 100% with this.

Loved being back at the Etihad at the weekend, very much enjoying my badminton club back up and running, and want all of this to continue rather than get shut down again.

yhp, it's people making out everything little thing to be major news when it's just expected updates at this point and still means the vast, vast majority can carry on unaffected.

I see smoking rates have gone up during the pandemic. That’s smoking that kills over 8M worldwide, every year, 1M of which are victims of passive smoking.
Also, whilst urging our children to get vaccinated against a disease unlikly to do them much harm, they’ve not been able to get vaccinated against the ones that will. https://www.theguardian.com/society...drop-due-to-vaccination-fatigue-advisers-warn

If only public health was about one thing it’d be ever so simple. The fact that it’s not, and never has been, is the thing that seems to have been forgotten over the last 18 months. Sadly, the evidence of that failure will be apparent for years and years to come.

This thread is seems split 3 ways,

1) those interested in the stats and discussing facts and science of it.
2) those slagging off people in group 1 as "doom mongers".
3) those that just seem to be trolling a bit.

So, then rather similar to the Kane thread in the Transfer forum…

I'm sure this is tedious but I'll repeat that exposing the entire population to COVID is projected to kill over 100 children. Which sounds pretty harmful to me. And that's without going into the potential long term effects of COVID on children, hospitalisations, etc.

they’ve not been able to get vaccinated against the ones that will.

Prolonging the pandemic unnecessarily by not maximising the numbers vaccinated will mean more disruption to the health service, causing more impacts like this, not less.
