Still the biggest falls are happening in the south but numbers are widely down.

GM AS A PERCENTAGE OF NORTH WEST CASES

TODAY 35.1% UP FROM 30.1% YESTERDAY - GM DID LESS WELL V NW TODAY

DOWN THOUGH FROM 35.8% LAST WEEK

GM IS DOING VERY WELL VERSUS THE NORTH WEST REGION WEEK TO WEEK BUT WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTR HAD STOCKPORT NOT BUCKED THAT TREND

Both the AstraZeneca and Pfizer vaccines begin to wane in effectiveness against symptomatic COVID infections from around 10 weeks after the first dose, according to a Public Health England paper.

By around the 20-week mark, AstraZeneca is just over 50% effective while Pfizer is just over 70%.

GREATER MANCHESTER SCOREBOARD

TOTAL CASES 1094 - UP 83 FROM YESTERDAY.

NORTH WEST FELL BY 242. SO NOT A GOOD DAY WHEN GM IS UP AND NW WELL DOWN

VERSUS LAST WEEK GM WAS THEN 1613 - SO DOWN 519 .

NORTH WEST FELL BY A HUGE 1386 WEEK TO WEEK.

THIS IS ABOUT ON EXPETATIONS FOR GM BUT NOT MORE THAN THAT

OK DAY FOR GREATER MANCHESTER NO MORE

STOCKPORT 171 - UP 19 on day & UP 6 wk to wk. This day was coming that a faltering Stockport beat the much improving but far bigger city to top score and not just the highest Pop score which it has been for days. Pop Score up 58 today. Easily highest in GM today again and costly as that was another 15 more than Trafford . POP SCORE 12, 421 sees its best in GM lead evaporate entirely as Trafford again had a far better day.

ZOE HAS BEEN GETTING THESE NUMBERS SPOT ON ALL WEEK. BUT STILL THE MEDIA HAVE NOT NOTICED WHAT IS HAPPENING IN STOCKPORT AND INSTEAD TODAY FOCUSED ON BOLTON AS THE BEST IN GM AS ITV CLAIMED WHEN AS OF YESTERDAY MANCHESTER NOW IS. WHOSE GREAT NUMBERS GAVE STOCKPORT THIS OPEN GOAL.

MANCHESTER 157 - DOWN 15 on day & DOWN 93 wk to wk. ITV YOU WENT TO THE WRONG GM BOROUH FOR WHO IS DOING BEST RIGHT NOW! Manchester Pop Score up just 28 - best in GM today and less than half of Stockport POP SCORE 15, 517

WIGAN 136 - UP 18 on day & DOWN 73 wk to wk. Pop score up 41 today - POP SCORE 14, 546

TAMESIDE 105 - LEVEL on day & DOWN 56 wk to wk - Another good day here. Pop Score up 46. POP SCORE 13, 749

TRAFFORD 103 - UP 13 on day & DOWN 55 Wk to wk - Pop Score up by 43 points today. 15 LESS than Stockport. So Trafford regains the lead for lowest overall Pop score by 6. POP SCORE OF 12, 415.

OLDHAM 96 - UP 17 on day & DOWN 30 Wk to Wk. Pop Score up 40 and now 61 ahead of Manchester for highest overall GM pop score . POP SCORE 15, 578

ROCHDALE 92 - UP 44 on day & DOWN 13 wk to wk. Pop Score up 41 and enters the 15 K club. POP SCORE 15, 015

BOLTON 88 - DOWN 14 on day & DOWN 69 wk to wk - Bolton Pop Score up 30. POP SCORE 14, 748

SALFORD 81 - DOWN 2 on day & DOWN 92 wk to wk. Pop Score up 31. POP SCORE 15, 221

BURY 65 - UP 3 on day & DOWN 44 wk to wk Pop score here up 34. POP SCORE 14, 399

GM boroughs weekly past 7 day case totals:

Bury 544, Rochdale 633, Trafford 711, Bolton, 763, Oldham 769, Salford 772, Tameside 868 , Wigan 1079, Stockport 1099, Manchester 1493

At the right end of the table Bury now well clear. Though lots of good falls today saw most boroughs improve their numbers.

At the wrong end Wigan and Manchester both improved and Wigan overtook Stockport which rose again and is now the closest it has ever been to beating Manchester not just on the day but as the highest weekly cases - something Stockport would usually be nowhere near.

3 double jabbed elderly residents have pulled through without much more than a temperature and cough, according to my wife (at her place). Eldest in their mid 90s.
Fair proof that jabs are still winning the day. Also no loss of life at this point of the current wave and all contained in house too.

GM WEEKLY POP SCORES

Remember low scores good - going down good - high scores bad - going up bad

BOROUGH // POP SCORE TODAY // POP SCORE LAST WEEK // UP OR DOWN BY LAST 7 DAYS

Also WAS 4 weeks ago (up/down in past month)

BOLTON 265 // 271 // DOWN 6 WAS 231 (up 34)

MANCHESTER 268 // 308 //DOWN 40 WAS 337 (down 69)

ROCHDALE 283 // 330 // DOWN 47 WAS 267 (up 16)

BURY 285 // 319 // DOWN 34 WAS 306 (down 21)

SALFORD 294 // 376 // DOWN 82 WAS 351 (down 57)

TRAFFORD 299 // 378 // DOWN 79 WAS 353 (down 54 )

WIGAN 326 // 350 // DOWN 24 WAS 271 (up 55)

OLDHAM 332 // 310 // UP 22 WAS 341 (down 9)

STOCKPORT 373 // 385 // DOWN 12 WAS 321 (up 52)

TAMESIDE 382 // 478 // DOWN 96 WAS 346 (Up 36)

Bolton did so well it took back top spot from Manchester though both are falling fast,

Moreover Rochdale's low low cases have seen it fall sub 300 too and three other boroughs fell far enough today to join it.

Tameside has been falling well over recent days and close enough now to a faltering Stockport. These two look likely to swap places tomorrow unless things change. Indeed Stockport was the only place to go up today when there were some big weekly drops,

The spread of the boroughs at just over 100 is much better though - especially as 8 of them are only 60 or so apart.

there is also onward transmission benefits.

both me and my wife are in the the vulnerable category and immuno suppressed and we have a 14 year old at school.

he doesn’t want to pick it up at school and pass it on to either of us . Even though we are double jabbed it could still be nasty for either of us To catch it

he is keen to have it .
Good lad, must make you both proud parents:-)
