So the total deaths with out of hospital England to come today are:- 161

This time last week it was 140. That became 178 last week after 38 out of hospital were added for England
 
And the three nation cases total today are:- 7424

Last week at this stage it was 9386

England later added 23, 265 to total 32, 651


Yesterday England added 29, 045 to total 36, 710

So we have to expect 36/37 K today.
 
Data delayed due to the ongoing issues with England hospital data that has created no report since Tuesday.
 
I read today that only 4% of the population of Africa are fully vaccinated.

I can't help but think any booster vaccine here is utterly pointless. We need to get vaccines to Africa ASAP.

My sister in law who's in her late twenties, very healthy, already had covid and already had two jabs has been offered a booster as she's a care worker. It's pointless. We're being led by headless chickens.
 
180 all settings deaths

35, 623 cases - down 1087 on yesterday & up 2972 on last week when total was 32, 651

28, 199 from England - down 846 on yesterday

23, 265 from England last week - up by 4934 wk to wk.
 
Pillar 1 & 2 tests 1, 055, 127 - 96K more than yesterday - so positivity will be down.

14K more tests than last week
 
GM & NW HIGHLIGHTS

Not a great day again unfortunately. Though not as bad as lately. GM just a little less than hoped. But some movement in the right direction.

NW is DOWN day to day by 479 to 3965.

GM is down day to day by 210 of that to 1351 - which is around par but not better than par as it has been lately with GM falls

Week to week NW is up by just 88 from 3877.

Sadly GM is up week to week by more than all of that - 139 from 1212 last week.

Obviously rising by more than the entire region is not good but numbers are modest so bad day as that is the impact is minimal.

In the GM numbers for the sixth day running Stockport beats Manchester and also tops 200 again. But on 209 is 49 down on yesterday and whilst up by more than anyone else week to week again it is less than yesterday. Just.

And Tameside also had a higher Pop Score rise and so relaively the worst day today. UP from 97 to 170 cases week to week.

Manchester stayed below 200 and even metaphorically went na na na na na to Stockport for beating it again by scoring 192 - the number of the well known bus from Manchester to Stockport!

Wigan was quite high as well but only up 34 week to week.Bury (which Zoe today had HIGHER than Stockport!) and Rochdale both bucked the trend and were not only the only two under 100 but both were down on last week.

Trafford fell quite a lot and is also DOWN week to week. Whilst Stockport easily crashed into the 13 K club after scoring a Pop of 71 - Trafford only up 57 - avoided it for aother 24 hours and extended its lead over Stockport fr lowest Pop Score in GM across the pandemic to 76.

Previous Friday to Friday the fall was 54. And week before it was UP by 9.

As you can see the North West has not done as well as the other regions but has the lowest number of the big 4 regions.

East has fallen wk to wk from 73 to 55

South East fallen wk to wk 56 to 47

South West fallen wk to wk 58 to 54

So only the SW has fallen by less and has half the number as the NW.


Nonetheless all of this hospital data given the level of cases is really good news.

Covid is out there and the world assumes we are in trouble because we have such high case levels.

The reason we do is we are VERY good at recording them and the reason why we are not in trouble is because of those stats I posted earlier for N Ireland - which are true all over the UK.

45% of cases are aged 19 and under. Two thirds are under 40 and only 10% are over 60 and just 2% or so over 80 - the most vulnerable to Covid.

So cases right now are NOT translating into hospital patients to anyhing like the degree they were pre vaccine roll out.

TODAY 34,1% DOWN FROM 35.1% YESTERDAY - A SMALL IMPROVEMENT IN GM TODAY

HOWEVER WELL UP FROM 31.3% LAST WEEK

WEEK TO WEEK MATTERS MORE SO ON BALANCE A BIT DISAPPOINTING
