VENTILATED UK AS OF TODAY

ENGLAND 671 SCOTLAND 71 NORTHERN IRELAND 27 WALES 48

UK TOTAL 817

(DOWN 15)

ENGLAND REGIONS

EAST FALLS by 380 - TO 3009 V 2442 - UP 567 IN WEEK

LONDON UP BY 241 - TO 3072 V 2593 - UP 479 IN WEEK

SOUTH EAST FALLS BY 670 TO 4168 V 3872 - UP 296 IN WEEK - HUGE turn around from 1400 UP and far ahead of the NW to in week by 1100 fewer and behind the NW again.IN 24 hours.

SOUTH WEST FALLS by 407 TO 2238 V 1763 - UP 475 IN WEEK

THAT SOUTH EAST DATA IS ALL OVER THE PLACE DAY TO DAY BUT MOSTLY DOWN (ISH)

EAST MIDLANDS FALLS BY 44 TO 2904 V 3003 DOWN 99 IN WEEK

WEST MIDLANDS FALLS BY 574 - TO 3016 V 3549 - DOWN 533 IN WEEK -

NORTH EAST FALLS BY 361 - TO 1361 V 1546 - DOWN 185 IN WEEK

YORKSHIRE UP BY 71 TO 3331 V 3452 - DOWN 121 IN WEEK

AND

NORTH WEST UP BY 798 TO 4225 V 4081 - UP 144 IN WEEK - very big turnaround for the worst here. The only North and Midlands region to rise by anything much and to be up now week to week.

NOW THE HIGHEST REGION AGAIN WHEN IT WAS FOURTH TWO DAYS AGO.

GM AS A PERCENTAGE OF NORTH WEST CASES

TODAY 35.1% DOWN FROM 36.2% YESTERDAY - A small improvement on yesterday v rest of region

HOWEVER ALSO WELL UP FROM 32,8% LAST WEEK

GM is struggling a little compared to other parts of the region that are falling.

I think it was the fact that Salford and Manchester WERE up to quite recently pretty much always the top scorers in GM from a population perspective is why it was mentioned

Yes, understand why it was mentioned.

But if this were the one, or main reason for it, you'd see the same pattern everywhere: higher pop score = higher current prevalence. You don't.

GREATER MANCHESTER SCOREBOARD

TOTAL CASES 1484 - UP 243 FROM YESTERDAY

NORTH WEST UP 798 TO 4225 - A LITTLE UNDER EXPECTATION FOR A RISE SO OK DAY FOR GM

VERSUS LAST WEEK GM WAS THEN 1339 - SO UP 145.

NORTH WEST IS UP BY 144 WEEK TO WEEK FROM 4081.

SO GM RISE IS ONE MORE THAN THE ENTIRE REGION TODAY - OBVIOUSLY NOT GOOD NEWS FOR GM MEANING THE OTHER PARTS OF THE REGION ARE OUTPERFORMING GM

STOCKPORT 284 - UP 59 on day & UP 56 wk to wk.Very bad day obviously! Highest score in some time and back to big week to week and day to day rises. New record gap over Manchester. It just gets worse here. Pop Score up 97 today. Highest in GM in some weeks. Trafford had a pretty bad day too but still gained another 14 points over Stockport today so - after a couple of OKish days - the gap to them for best overall Pop Score increased a lot to 107. At this rate will be in the 14 K club next week. POP SCORE 13, 406

TRAFFORD 198 - UP 68 on day & UP 52 Wk to wk - Pop score of 83 is terrible here BUT gained 14 points off Stockport today because it was just more terrible. Overall Pop Score across the pandemic is now 107. POP SCORE 13, 299

MANCHESTER 197 - UP 44 on day & UP 29 wk to wk. Pop Score up 35 - much less good day here still just kept under 200. And Stockport still the worst on every measure. May very well become the second GM borough into the 16K club tomorrow. POP SCORE 15, 973

WIGAN 171 - DOWN 2 on day & UP 24 wk to wk. Pop score up 51 today. POP SCORE 15, 217

TAMESIDE 153 - DOWN 1 on day & DOWN 7 wk to wk - an OK day here taking it further behind Stockport who are now over the hill and far away on its own up top. Pop Score up by 67. Pop Score. POP SCORE 14, 689

SALFORD 122 - DOWN 3 on day & DOWN 5 wk to wk. Still doing well here. If not quite as well as Zoe has them. Pop Score up 44 . POP SCORE 15, 836

OLDHAM 109 - UP 30 on day & UP 27 Wk to Wk. Pop Score up 46 and now 227 ahead of Manchester for highest overall GM pop score. POP SCORE 16, 200

BOLTON 106 - UP 20 on day & DOWN 16 wk to wk - Bolton Pop Score up 37 . POP SCORE 15, 271

ROCHDALE 73 - UP 18 on day & UP 1 wk to wk. According to Zoe much worse than Stockport. Ummm nope again. Pop Score up 32 - best in GM yet again . POP SCORE 15, 494

BURY 71 - UP 10 on day & DOWN 16 wk to wk. Pop score here up 37 POP SCORE 14, 940

GM boroughs weekly past 7 day case totals:

Bury 469, Rochdale 498, Bolton 712, Oldham 745 , Salford 787, Tameside 1087, Trafford 1122, Wigan 1166, Manchester 1188, Stockport 1541

At the right end of the table Bury back on top but Rochdale close. And these two miles clear of the rest

At the wrong end of the table Stockport back up big and their lead is now lead increased to 353 - highest ever above Manchester. The next three like double digits 1122, 1166, 1188 but anu of them and even Tameside could catch Manchester in coming days if it does not start going up more itself as it is hinting at now.

Hard to rememember that before this turnaround Machester was well over 1000 ahead of everyone else. At one stage nearer 2000. Such has been the remarkable change in GMs biggest borough. And its former best now anything but.

GM WEEKLY POP SCORES

Remember low scores good - going down good - high scores bad - going up bad

Stockport had another awful day and is now well adrift of the rest at its highest ever level.

Tameside fell today, Trafford went up so they now have their own fight for second but Stockport needs to turn this around soon or it will be over the hills and gone.

Manchester rose and Rochdale fell so they got closer together but the city is still the best in GM on pretty much every measure though nobody in GM seems to want to go below 200 as they all get near then start to rise when they do.

Still the gap between Manchester and Stockport top to bottom is the most it has been. UP today by 15 to 310! That is a very rare kind of top to bottom spread in the ten boroughs

I don't really pay much attention to these so apologies for the lack of knowledge, but are these stats just based on people reporting at least 1 of the common symptoms? If so wouldn't the fact that everyone seems to be catching a cold at the moment have something to do with them going up? I know more people that have been ill over the last few weeks with a cold, than I know who have had covid over this whole year!
Last Thursday I started with a cough and thought I had caught a cold as I was sneezing runny nose etc.
By Sunday I felt really iffy and as I have COPD and asthma her indoors made me go to the walk in centre..they put me on oxygen for 30 mins and sent me home with antibiotics.
Mrs blue has been taking lateral flow tests daily and all negative but she felt bad on Monday so phoned work to say she wouldn't be in, her boss said get a PCR test so she had one Monday..positive and she was shocked..had mine yesterday and got results positive too..
Thankfully we both been double jabbed and not feeling as bad as we were.
I probably caught in hospital Sunday/Monday when I had knee op.
We both have to isolate till Monday..still find it hard to believe that some people don't want to be vaccinated IE the protestors etc..crazy

ZOE APP NEWS

TODAY'S UPDATE

It WAS 46, 300 last week - a RISE week to week of 14, 496 after a rise of 11, 826,yesterday and previous day of 9852.

THIS IS NOW ALMOST BACK TO THE HIGHEST IT HAS EVER BEEN AND FIRST TIME OVER 60 K since July.

Ongoing symptomatic cases UP too again-

FROM 708, 590 TO 726, 895 A RISE of 18, 305 in 24 hours - after ones of 38, 085 yesterday and 4204 and 2654 previous days following a few weeks of falls.

IT WAS 659, 252 last week. A weekly RISE of 67, 643 - a GIGANTIC turnabout following yesterdays rise of 39, 338 and from weekly FALLS of 7794, 5392, 4562, 16, 521, and 36, 638 in previous days.

CASES IN ENGLAND PARTICULARLY HAVE WELL AND TRULY SHIFTED DIRECTION NOW IN A RATHER SUDDEN MANNER OVER THE PAST TWO DAYS

THE SCHOOLS INCREASE IS NOW HITTING HARD IT SEEMS

There is always a lag to the change in ongoing cases after a rise or fall in daily case numbers as ongoing cases persist and are not just counted on the day of first report.
