ZOE APP DATA

TODAY

UNFORTUNATELY BUT NOT SURPRISINGLY FROM THE REAL DATA OVER PAST FEW DAYS IT IS NOT GREATER MANCHESTER THAT IS MAKING THE NORTH WEST FALL TODAY ON ZOE WHILST EVERYWHERE ELSE RISES. SADLY GM IS RISING LIKE ELSEWHERE AND THE NORTH WEST FALL IS ENTIRELY DOWN TO DROPS IN AND AROUND MERSEYSIDE THAT WERE 2 WEEKS AGO HIGHEST IN THE NORTH WEST AND NOW WAY DOWN AND IN SOME CASES NOW EVEN BELOW MUCH OF GM. PLUS HUGE RISES - EVEN MORE THAN IN GM - TO THE NORTH AROUND THE LAKE DISTRICT/MORECAMBE/LANCASTER

GREATER MANCHESTER:-

Wigan is now TOP UP on 16, 688 FROM 14, 684 - highest GM number in 10 days or so.

Rochdale drops to second but also UP on 15, 779 FROM 14, 986

Tameside is up into third also UP - on 13, 328 FROM 12, 246 JUST ahead of Stockport which looks more right than usual here

Stockport stays fourth but sadly rather than the falls here needed is UP by the most in two weeks to its highest score in that period too on 13, 243 FROM 11, 889 .

Trafford shoots up to fifth also UP for sixth day and crashing into the upper watch zonee on 10, 933 FROM 9490

Bury edges DOWN slightly in sixth on 10, 861 FROM 10, 884.

Oldham moves up tinto the Upper watch zone too in seventh after a fifth consecutive rise also UP on 10,620 FROM 9658

NOW ONLY THREE BOROUGHS LEFT IN THE LOWER WATCH ZONE

Manchester is in eighth still flirting with going into 10 K upper zone but DOWN a little on 9347 FROM 9840

Bolton edges UP too in ninth rising for the sixth day running on 7272 FROM 6373

BUT STILL EASILY BEST IN GM AFTER WEEKS OF DAILY FALLS IN THE REAL DATA IS STILL :-

Salford - and DOWN very slightly bucking the trend in GM that is pushing numbers up on 3498 FROM 3509

REST OF NORTH WEST

St Helens is DOWN again on 10, 537 FROM 13, 402 and 16, 084 - falling fast here.

Liverpool is DOWN too after days of falls and no longer above all of GM on 12, 615 FROM 14, 575 AND 16, 769

Sefton slowly going DOWN too on 12, 796 FROM 13, 214 AND 13. 709

Warrington also DOWN on 1o, 950 FROM 11, 704 AND 12, 542

THESE FALLS ARE THE REASON WHY GM NUMBERS V NORTH WEST HAVE NOT BEEN SO GOOD IN PAST FEW DAYS. ELSEWHERE IS DOING THE FALLING AS GM IS NEARLY ALL GOING UP AND NOW LEVEL OR ABOVE THESE ONCE VERY HIGH NUMBERS TO THE WEST

THE NEW NORTH WEST HOT SPOT:- RIBBLE VALLEYIS DOWN SLIGHTLY

Up on 35, 543 FROM 36, 928 - BUT STILL EASILY THE MOST IN THE REGION

HOWEVER - FURTHER NORTH IN THE REGION IS ALSO STILL A BIG PROBLEM - NO DOUBT DUE TO ALL THE VISITORS NOW THINGS ARE OPEN

LAKE DISTRICT NORTH IS UP TOO ON 31, 088 FROM 29, 712 NOW THE SECOND HIGHEST IN THE NORTH WEST - WITH LANCASTER AND MORECAMBE UP too ON 19, 575

BUT THE OTHER AREA OF CONCERN (sorry Andyhinch):-

Cheshire East which is still well above Stockport as it has been for a week or two now unusually is well UP TODAY again to above all in GM once again.

UP to 17, 142 FROM 16, 419 AND 14, 928 - been consistently over Stockport for two weeks now.

BUT still Chester and Cheshire West is higher - though flattened off and DOWN a tad on 18, 919 FROM 19, 376

So now the two parts of Cheshire are closer again

Cheshire is now the main problem in the south of the NW region above where the Merseyside and surrounding boroughs were for some weeks.

ENGLAND HOSPITAL DEATHS

87 with 8 North West - last week was 68 with 13 NW & week before 121 with 20 NW.

By Regions:-

East 8, London 13, Midlands 16, NE & Yorkshire 17, North West 8. South East 11, South West 14

North West LOWEST region on a mid week day is a first for some time I think.

Most in trusts 4 each in Durham & Bedfordshire

NW Trusts: - 2 in Mid Cheshire & 1 each in East Cheshire, East Lancashire, Southport, St Helens, Wigan & Wirral

By age:

40 - 59 (8) 60 - 79 (47), 80 PLUS (32)

SCOTLAND DATA

28 deaths - was 31 last week

2997 cases - was 3598 last week

7.6% positivity - was 7.8% last week

1020 patients - down from 1027 yesterday - was 1076 last week

71 ventilated icu - down 2 on yesterday - was 82 last week

THE FALLS IN HOSPITAL DATA HAVE RETURNED BUT ARE SLOWER WEEK TO WEEK THAN WAS MUCH AS HAS BEEN HAPPENING IN ENGLAND

NORTHERN IRELAND DATA

2 deaths - was 4 last week

1320 cases - was 1060 cases last week - first sign of a rise here

6.1% positivity - was 5.5% last week - which this seems to confirm as real

7633 weekly cases - was 7540 yesterday & 7738 last week - another hint at a stall at best

BUT

76 CARE HOME OUTBREAKS - WAS 80 YESTERDAY & 102 LAST WEEK

This good news goes on and with the low deaths matters more than the cases or positivity.

Only 52 of these are symptomatic outbreaks too btw

346 patients - was 362 yesterday & 387 last week

27 ventilated - was 24 yesterday & 26 last week - THIS IS THE ONLY REAL BAD NUMBER TODAY

NORTHERN IRELAND PAST WEEK TESTING POSITIVE BY AGE AND SEX:

Percentage numbers FEMALE // MALE FROM THE PAST 7 DAYS POSITIVE CASES

AGE // F // M (to nearest whole % number)

0 - 4 1 / 1

5 - 9 4 / 5

10 - 14 11 / 11

15 - 19 6 / 5

20 - 24 2 / 2

25 - 29 2 / 2

30 - 34 4 / 2

35 - 39 4 / 3

40 - 44 5 / 3

45 - 49 4 / 3

50 - 54 3 / 3

55 - 59 2 / 2

60 - 64 1 / 1

65 - 69 1 / 1

70 - 74 1 / 1

75 - 79 1 / 1

80 + 1 / 1

AS YOU CAN SEE ONE THIRD OF ALL CASES ARE 14 AND UNDER SO LIMITING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE OLDER SCHOOLCHILD VACCINATION PROGRAMME I WOULD IMAGINE. IT IS THE YOUNGER ONES WHO SEEM LIKELY TO BE BRINGING IT HOME TO THE FAMILY. THOUGH VACCINATIONS ARE MORE TO MITIGATE SYMPTOMS THAN STOP SPREAD SO THAT IS PRESUMABLY WHY THIS IS NOT A CONCERN

TODAY'S UPDATE

RATHER WORRYING HUGE RISES TODAY SADLY

Predicted cases are

UP TO 58, 126 FROM 55, 710 a rise of of 2416 after rises of 2118, 2658, 683, 2306 in the days before.

It WAS 46, 300 last week - a RISE week to week of 11, 826 after a rise of 11, 133 yesterday and previous day of 9852.

THIS IS NOW ALMOST BACK TO THE HIGHEST IT HAS BEEN

Ongoing symptomatic cases UP too and by an even bigger sudden leap upwards-

FROM 670, 505 TO 708, 590 A RISE of 38, 085 in 24 hours - after ones of 4204 and 2654 previous days following FALLS of 717,1399, 3489 in the days before that.

IT WAS 659, 252 last week. A weekly RISE of 49, 338 - a GIGANTIC ONE DAY INCREASE - after one of 7794 yesterday and from weekly falls of 5392, 4562, 16, 521, and 36, 638 in previous days.

WELL AND TRULY SHIFTED DIRECTION NOW IN A RATHER SUDDEN MANNER

There is always a lag to the change in ongoing cases after a rise or fall in daily case numbers as ongoing cases persist and are not just counted on the day of first report.

I don't really pay much attention to these so apologies for the lack of knowledge, but are these stats just based on people reporting at least 1 of the common symptoms? If so wouldn't the fact that everyone seems to be catching a cold at the moment have something to do with them going up? I know more people that have been ill over the last few weeks with a cold, than I know who have had covid over this whole year!

I think it is more than one ad there are very complex and constantly updated computer maths that account for issues. It is much closer to real data than it used to be and tracks the numbers now quite well - often a day ir so ahead. But it is really better as a guode to trends not day to day changes.

I do not really understand it and do not understand apps in general as I have no mobile phone so someone else may have a much more helpful answer.

150 all settings deaths - was 166 last Wednesday

111 from England - was 121 last week

36, 722 cases -

was 34, 526 yesterday (up 2196)

was 34, 460 last week (up 2262)

England only

TODAY 29, 036 - was 28, 808 yesterday (up 228) & 27, 317 last Wednesday (up 1719)

There were 858, 048 pillar 1 & 2 tests TODAY

DOWN from 997, 725 yesterday & DOWN from 880, 089 last week

So positivity will be UP today.
