Erm. What? Nothing has changed in terms of the size of the virus to allow this change?

Were you unaware that covid is airborne?

Probably because they’re almost useless against Delta which is airborne and not just spread via droplet.
Wrong. Anyone would think an anti-masker had taken over your account.
Yes the virus is airborne but masks do provide 30%+ protection for the cloth ones and 50%+ for the better ones. 50-75% for protecting others from you.
But hey restrictions have been removed and everyone under 60 needs to catch it prior to vaccine effectiveness waning.

WALES DATA

OK day here happily

8 deaths - was 9 last week

2007 cases - was 3369 last week

10.8% positivity - wa 12.6% last week

Not an anti masker at all and wear my mask every day. But they’re almost useless against an airborne virus as I say and as even your most optimistic stats agree.

They’re half-decent at protecting others but almost useless at protecting the wearer.

ENGLAND 64 HOSPITAL DEATHS - FULL DETAILS

BY REGION:-

East 6, London 11, Midlands 13, NE & Yorkshire 17, North West 9, South East 4, South West 4

Most by trusts:- 6 each in County Durham & in Sunderland

North West trusts:- 2 each in St Helens & Morecambe and 1 each in Bolton, Pennine Acute (Oldham & Rochdale), Salford, Wigan & Wirral

BY AGE:-

0 - 19 (1) 40 - 59 (6), 60 - 79 (22), 80 PLUS (35)

IT NOW LOOKS ALMOST CERTAIN THE WEEKLY DEATHS WILL BE DOWN FOR THE THIRD SUCCESSIVE WEEK AS EVERY DAY IN THE FIRST SIX IS DOWN - OFTEN A LOT DOWN - ON THE SAME DAY LAST WEEK WITH JUST TOMORROW'S DATA TO COMPLETE THE WEEK

AS OF NOW 62 IS THE HIGHEST SINGLE DAY AND THE LAST DAY (OCT 2) IS AT JUST 48 WITH JUST ONE DAY TO GO.

LAST WEEK THE HIGHEST DAY WAS 92. AND IT HAS BEEN AT LEAST IN THE 80s EVERY WEEK IN THE PAST MONTH - SO THIS IS A VERY VISIBLE DOWNTURN

Covid is droplet airborne with occasional aerosol airborne in rare occasions ( due to dry coughs creating smaller droplets occasionally ). but its always been that way. nowt to do with Delta variant.

Droplet vs airborne is all to do with the size of the virus its self which hasn't changed.

It is airborne and it’s not “rare”.

The experts initially believed that it was droplet transmission that caused all cases, now the opposite is true. Not sure why you think that’s remotely controversial.

I never said virus size had changed, it was always small enough to penetrate all but an N99 mask. But Delta is far more transmissible and requires a much smaller viral load to cause infection.

So to repeat, someone asked why so few are still wearing masks, my answer, which I stand by, is that it’s because they’re fairly useless (at protecting the wearer).
