Coronavirus (2021) thread

I suppose it is quite tough for the government to impose further restrictions when we aren't meeting the scenarios in the models done by SAGE prior to July 19th.

I think the only thing going against these models is that we seem to be staying at a quite high number of cases for a lot longer. It's not really a wave, more of a high sea!

England deaths showing today as 66 when 88 were announced just from hospital in England earlier. As posted couple of pages back in detail. Bit odd.
Am guessing they have deleted some deaths after a review.
Probably the Tories reclassifying deaths to within seven days of a positive test.
Job done. Crisis solved.
Remember when Maggie did something similar with the jobs figures in the eighties.
Solved unemployment at a stroke!

Stick it in the Covid political thread Len. Or better still, the conspiracy theories thread.

It is worth noting that NW is falling, most of the other north and Midlands regions are not going up much if at all and the biggest areas of increase are in the South East, South West and Wales.~

And the South West and Wales were the focus of that massive screw up that we have heard little about since where people who had Covid got wrong results given. At first I assumed there was just a lot of retesting going on to catch the cases the labs messed up. But it looks now as if the wrong results have maybe fed into a wave there as I assume people who thought they were Covid free went forth and multiplied the virus.

We need to learn more on what happened. Has anyone seen an actual investigation?

This plus the clearly needless delay over not innoculating the schoolkids until they went back to school which we saw in here as a massive error as they were dithering appears to be two factors in why we are close to being isolated from the rest of the world this winter in a kind of externally imposed lockdown.

This is either going to fizzle out in the next 2 or 3 weeks or it is going to be obvious another error was made on delaying whatever measures will now need to be taken if we get to whatever hospital numer they do not want to accept.

And they need to kick on with the booster jab. Though I note they HAVE at last taken down that message telling people to let the NHS staff go first which was up there until yesterday. And I mentioned a couple of days ago in here as it was clearly a bad error to leave it there way beynd when it shoyuld have. It only seems to have been taken down when someone called the radio and reported it on air!

Our Covid policy should not be down to the public pointing out errors before someone running the show actually looks and acts themselves.

ENGLAND HOSPITAL DATA

ADMISSIONS:- (Always 2 days behind the rest of the data remember)

ON TUESDAY ADMISSIONS WERE 894 - UP FROM THE PREVIOUS WEEK WHEN IT WAS 760 & 658 WEEK BEFORE

ALMOST EVERY REGION HAD OVER 100 ADMITTED AND WAS UP WEEK TO WEEK

Regions TUE- TUE

LONDON 93 -105

MIDLANDS 149 - 162

NE & YORKSHIRE 166 - 166

NORTH WEST 116 - 121

London still doing the best of the big regions ahead of the NW

ENGLAND HOSPITAL PATIENTS

GOING UP INEXORABLY DAY AFTER DAY.

THIS IS A BIG SHIFT IN THE WRONG DIRECTION - THOUGH NOT AS MUCH TODAY

PATIENTS 6366 - UP 67 IN 24 HOURS

A WEEK AGO THE RISE WAS JUST 43 FROM 5246 TO 5289.

SO ENGLAND PATIENTS ARE UP 1077 WEEK TO WEEK - ABOUT A 20% INCREASE

WEEK BEFORE THE RISE WAS 327 - ABOUT 7% INCREASE

WEEK BEFORE THE RISE WAS 46 AND WEEK BEFORE FELL BY 298

AS YOU CAN SEE THE TREND HAS BEEN VERY CLEAR AND ACCELERATING. IF IT CARRIES ON LIKE THIS WE WILL SOON BE IN DIFFICULT TERRITORY AND OVER 10,000 IN ENGLAND ALONE
